White Face (also known as HER and Ivan Zanotti) is the main antagonist of Ivan Zanotti's short horror game IMSCARED: A Pixelated Nightmare. It's a mysterious "entity turned into data" that haunts the titular game.
Personality[]
White Face overall appears as a mischievous and unpredictable entity that clearly enjoys scaring the player. Despite this, however, White Face doesn't seem truly malicious and it in fact is quite friendly towards the player despite its creepy behavior (which especially becomes true if the player decides to give it a flower towards the end of the game, with White Face showing genuine appreciation and affection towards the player). White Face also seems to want to keep the player entertained and to stay with them forever.
As HER, White Face's personality is different, being much more serious and quiet. White Face's more serious nature also keeps later on in the game after the "BURY HER" scenario, where it describes a (likely) fake scenario of it imagining its brother dying and asking the player to do the right choice, knowing fully the game is close to its end.
White Face clearly fears its own death, and should the player ignore its pleas and attempt to delete it, it will become extremely aggressive and hostile.
Biography[]
White Face first appears in the game's tutorial (although it technically appears even before that through the message first appearing to the player, which later on becomes pretty obvious to be White Face's doing alongside all the text files), where it gives basic instructions to the player before asking them to bring it a flower.
Trivia[]
- According to the game's creator, White Face is incapable of feeling or expressing love that is romantic.
- Despite being the game's main antagonist, White Face can't count as a villain since it knows it's inside a game and thus knows perfectly that its actions can't harm the player.
