Vivian Thompson was the main antagonist of the 1999 film called In Dreams.
He is portrayed by Robert Downey Jr.

Thompson was born with a woman's name, by his mother who forced him to be a girl and during theses abuses, Thompson developed psychic powers to invade people's minds and cause torture and hallucinations. After that, Vivian was abandoned by his mother. He also started to develop psychosis, and during his days at the psychiatric institution where he did psychotherapy, and during his adult years, he escaped and started killing young girls and raping them, and soon afterwards as revenge for his abandonment, Vivian kills his mother too. He also kills a woman named Rebbeca that is her mother Clara.
Then Vivian tries to kill Clara, who calls the police. And during the confrontation, Vivian falls into a channel below. He is then arrested and taken to a mental institution where he will stay for the rest of his life.
