Unicron the Chaos Bringer is one of the overarching antagonists of the Transformers film series, appearing as the overarching antagonist of Transformers: The Last Knight and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.
He is the giant cosmic "God of Chaos" who wishes to destroy everything that exists to obtain peace in his own way. In the early 1990s, Unicron sets his sights on devouring the Earth after learning the Transwarp Key was there, leading the Autobots and Maximals to engage in a war with the Terrorcons in order to stop Unicron from reaching humanity's home, as well as Cybertron itself (Unicron's archnemesis and twin brother, Primus).
He is voiced by Colman Domingo, who also played Victor Strand in Fear the Walking Dead and William Burke in Candyman.
History[]
Somewhere in time and space, Unicron approaches the home planet of the Maximals and dispatches his herald, Scourge, to retrieve the Transwarp key. Scourge succeeds in killing the previous leader Apelinq, but fails to retrieve the Transwarp key, so Unicron orders him to scour the universe and find the key.
Thousands of years later, Scourge found half of the Transwarp key and presented it to the God of Chaos who telekinetically tortured him for only bringing him half of the key. Scourge desperately explains that the Maximals must have split the key into two and goes to retrieve it. Scourge temporarily succeeds to obtain the Transwarp key, he can now open a portal for Unicron so that the latter may consume the Earth. However his plan was ultimately thwarted by the combined efforts of the Autobots and Maximals, culminating in the destruction of the key by Optimus Prime, leaving Unicron trapped in the Maximal Galaxy for the time being.

Trivia[]
- Director Steven Caple Jr. introduced Unicron in Transformers: Rise of the Beasts because of his wishes to see Unicron in the Bumblebee sequel, hoping that other filmmakers (as he isn't signed to return) choose to use Unicron again for the next two sequels (as ROTB has been confirmed to be the first in a trilogy) as a major villain for the reboot film continuity.
- This is the second time that a version of Unicron appeared in a live action Transformers, with the first being Transformers: The Last Knight (2017), which was the fifth and final film of the Michael Bay Transformers film series.
- His voice actor, Colman Domingo, is openly gay. This makes Domingo as the first gay actor to be involved in Transformers although Michaela Rodriguez, the voice actress of Nightbird, is the first LGBT actress to be involved.
