Titan Havik is a minor antagonist in the 2023 video game Mortal Kombat 1. He is an alternate version of Havik who arrived at the aftermath of the Battle of Armageddon. He is set to appear in the story DLC Khaos Reigns as the main antagonist.

He is voiced by Jacob Craner, who also voices his New Era counterpart.

Appearance[]

Titan Havik vaguely resembles his lesser counterparts in terms of physical appearance, being a muscular, fair-skinned man with black hair and most of his face removed, leaving only a skeletal maw, as well as having eyes with paled pupils and blood drenching his maw and most of his chest. He wears a spiked green helmet and armor (the former encrusted with a blue jewel) and pants buckled by a yellow sash.

Personality[]

Similarly to his counterparts, Titan Havik sadistically relishes in the chaos spawned by war and bloodshed, marvelling in the bloodbath left in the aftermath of the Battle of Armageddon and killing an injured and defenseless alternate version of Jackson Briggs for no reason, and states on no uncertain terms that he plans to stoke the carnage even more.

Biography[]

This version of Havik seems to have lived a similar life to his classic counterpart, serving as the Cleric of Chaos who opposed order in all it's forms. When he discovered that Kronika was attempting to create a golden balance, he disgustedly killed her and took her place as the Keeper of Time, allowing chaos to be spread across his timeline.

Mortal Kombat 1[]

Titan Havik appears in the post-credits scene of Mortal Kombat 1, arriving in Titan Shang Tsung's destroyed Dark Timeline in the Battle of Armageddon alongside his timeline's versions of Kenshi, Tanya and Quan Chi. Coming across an injured alternate version of Jackson Briggs, he comments on how he even after his defeat, he continues to cling onto survival before sadistically dropping his morningstar upon his head, killing him. Looking out at the sea of corpses the battle has left in its wake, Havik revels in the chaos and death flooding the Dark Timeline. As Reiko laments how fast the battle ended, Havik grins, ominously stating that "the next time, it won't".

Khaos Reigns[]

Inspired by Titan Shang Tsung, Havik began conquering and merging timelines into his own, such as the timeline of Emperor Rain and Empress Tanya. He took variants of fighters to compete in blood sports, to an audience of variants of himself.

Titan Havik infiltrates Liu Kang's timeline during Bi-Han and Sektor's trial in Outworld. Despite the Umgadi's interference, Havik's forces successfully capture Geras. Bi-Han impulsively charges through the closing portal to stop them, much to Sektor's dismay. At his Citadel, Havik experiments on Geras to extract the Time Crystals and merge them with his amassed Kamidogu. This fusion enables Havik to manipulate reality within his timeline, and by integrating Geras's Time Crystals, he gains the power to alter realities across the multiverse. Havik then subjects Bi-Han to brutal torture, transforming him into the chaotic entity known as Noob Saibot.

After infiltrating Titan Havik's timeline, Kuai Liang, Sektor, and Cyrax encounter alternate versions of familiar characters, including a variant of Johnny Cage and Rain, who join their quest to rescue Geras and locate Bi-Han. Their mission expands to include finding Rain's wife, a variant of Tanya, who is forced to fight in the Khaoseum, a twisted arena where thousands of Havik variants revel in the bloodshed. Upon arrival, the group is spotted by a chaotic Kenshi variant and compelled to fight other timeline variants to the death, all under Titan Havik's watchful eye. After emerging victorious, they flee into the treacherous Maze, a labyrinthine tunnel system filled with deadly traps and ambushes by various variants. The group suffers a devastating loss as Rain falls in the chaos. However, Tanya's encounter with an Orin variant proves fortunate, as he secretly transports them to the Citadel, enraging Titan Havik.

Upon reaching the Citadel, Kuai Liang's group defeats the transformed Bi-Han, now known as Noob Saibot, and frees Geras. They retrieve the stolen Kamidogu and escape to their own timeline, where they inform Liu Kang of their findings. Although Bi-Han's mind is freed from chaos, his body remains tainted. Enraged by the theft, Titan Havik invades Liu Kang's timeline, laying waste to the Fire Temple and reclaiming his Kamidogu. Empowered by the artifacts, Titan Havik integrates them into his body, amplifying his godly abilities. Seeking to spread chaos across the multiverse, he heads to The Gateway, beginning the corruption of adjacent timelines. Liu Kang and his Champions intervene, defeating Havik's chaos-infused variants. In a desperate tactic, Titan Havik mutilates himself, spawning dozens of clones that swarm Liu Kang's forces. Meanwhile, Liu Kang and the self-serving Bi-Han engage Titan Havik in a fierce duel.

Trivia[]

  • Ironically, while the New Era version of Havik is an anarchist that despises authority, Titan Havik appears to be the tyrannical ruler of his own timeline.
  • Given his resemblance to the original version of Havik, it has been theorised that Titan Havik comes from his Armageddon ending, where the Cleric becomes the embodiment of chaos.
