The Thousand, or Carl King, is a supervillian of Spider-man, first appearing (only) in a three part storyline of Spider-man's Tangled Web: The Coming of the Thousand. He was created by Garth Ennis, and John McCrea.
He is was a cruel bully of Peter Parker, and after witnessing Peter get bitten by a radioactive spider and appear to gain powers, ate the spider to gain the same powers but ended up becoming a living cluster of spiders that kill people and use their corpses as vessils.
Powers and skills[]
Human Hive: Carl's innards had been changed into a swarm of spiders that hold his consciencenous individually. They are capable of entering a person, and devouring their insides, and than using their skin as a suit. They can multiply, which means that if a mojority of them are killed, but one survives, he can still live.
Superhuman Strengh: Carl has demonstrated super strengh, as he was able to overpower Spider-man (who also has super strengh)
Paralyzing bite: Carl's bite can paralyze people, even Spider-man, but it lasts for 10 minutes
Wall-crawling: Similar to Spider-man, Carl can cling to walls like an arachnid.
Immunity to Spider-man's spider sense: Like Venom, Carl is immune to Spider-man's spider sense, allowing him to suprise attack Peter.
