Hey guys, this image appeared on my desktop and I can’t delete it. It keeps multiplying. I tried to do a reverse image search on google and it keeps being really weird and ominous. Any advice on this? My power is flickering now?!
~ Trevor about the Fetid King's photo.

The Fetid King is one of the many villainous creations created by the Canadian horror artist, Trevor Henderson for the Trevor Henderson mythos.

It is a mysterious entity whose initial form takes the shape of a duplicating image. However, its capabilities extend far beyond mere replication. It possesses the extraordinary ability to manipulate electricity and technology, akin to computer viruses wreaking havoc on systems. What truly sets it apart is its invulnerability to any force or defense, save for the Data Knife, rendering it an utterly terrifying and formidable presence to encounter.

Appearance[]

The Fetid King is a grim representation of a human skeleton that is noticeably frail, with a remarkably elongated spinal column and a total of seventeen ribs, significantly lower in number compared to an average human. Its facial expression is truly eerie, with its mouth wide open and, curiously enough, its eyelids made of skull bone remaining in a permanently open position. Adding to its mystique, the king possesses a few scarce strands of hair, an uncommon feature for a skeleton as hair is typically attached to the skin. Furthermore, the skeletal monarch seems to be adorned with a wooden crown, characterized by unevenly shaped spikes at its termination point.

Personality[]

The very next day, Trevor made a startling discovery. After restarting his computer, he noticed that all the pictures of the Fetid King had undergone a bizarre transformation. Now, there was a peculiar hole located on the lower left side of the skeletal creature's face, and within it, an eerie eye could be seen peering out. What's more, every single image was renamed as "kingbirth.jpg". Trevor went on to mention that he had been experiencing frequent power outages in his kitchen, despite not knowing the cause behind them. His electricity supply remained unstable, adding to his growing concerns. Additionally, it was intriguing to note that Trevor's Twitter post contained numerous capital letters that seemed out of place. This peculiar occurrence hinted at the possibility that the Fetid King was attempting to corrupt Trevor's account. When all the misplaced letters were combined, they spelled out the phrase "HAIL KING". Interestingly, two other users attempted to upload the images to a different platform and then re-download them, only to discover that they too ended up with numerous duplicate copies of the same image.

Trevor's posts contain intriguing phrases that provide additional information about the enigmatic entity known as the Fetid King. Among these phrases are "HIS KINGDOM GROWS," "THE LIGHT OF HIS BIRTH," and the simple yet enigmatic "HAIL." The exact meaning behind these expressions remains a mystery, although the kingbirth.jpg image hints at the possibility of the Fetid King being a Lovecraftian horror or otherworldly being confined within a skeletal vessel, with the potential to eventually break free. Trevor has also divulged further details about the lore surrounding this monstrous being. When inquired about the Fetid King's ASL (age, sex, and location), Trevor's response was rather cryptic, stating that the entity is ageless (infinite), possesses a gender associated with skeletons (skeleton), and exists everywhere (omnipresent). This suggests that the Fetid King transcends conventional limitations of time, space, and physical form. Moreover, Trevor has referred to the Fetid King as the "patron saint of reinvention, of the ancient ways finding new passage in the modern world, of sacrifice and blood." Such a description implies that the Fetid King is a formidable ancient deity who, in the past, demanded sacrifices. However, in today's technological era, the entity employs its supernatural abilities to extend its influence and convey messages of its impending arrival.

Biography[]

The initial encounter with the Fetid King occurred when Trevor reached out to his Twitter followers for assistance regarding a perplexing predicament he found himself in. Perplexed, Trevor discovered an unusual image on his desktop that seemed to be reproducing itself without warning. This peculiar picture depicted a distorted skeleton-like entity, adorned with a regal crown upon its bony head. In an attempt to unravel the mystery, Trevor opted to perform a reverse image search on the renowned search engine, Google. To his dismay, the search results yielded an eerie and foreboding phrase as the top guess for the photo: "the Fetid King is coming." As if this were not disconcerting enough, Trevor noticed that the electrical power in his immediate vicinity began to flicker intermittently, adding an additional layer of consternation to the already perplexing situation.

Having observed that the image had an inexplicable movement, he heeded the suggestion of one of his online followers and proceeded to alter the file extension from .jpg to .txt, subsequently opening it in a notes application. To his surprise, the once stagnant image transformed into a series of repetitive texts, ominously declaring "anyone who dares to disrespect the Fetid King will suffer the consequences," alongside two additional phrases that were discernible within the transcribed notes. These two phrases straightforwardly conveyed the impending arrival of the Fetid King, emphasizing that his presence was imminent and would manifest in the near future.

Trevor continued to seek guidance from his followers and attempted to replicate the process of transferring all of the images onto his external drive. After completing this task, he proceeded to disconnect the drive and restart his computer. Unfortunately, this action only exacerbated the issue, resulting in the appearance of disconcerting blue and red distortions within the captured images. In a further attempt to find a solution, another individual suggested altering the file name to "Praise be the Fetid King." It remains unclear whether Trevor ultimately acted upon this advice, but it is highly probable that he did. Intriguingly, the entity depicted in the photograph seemingly shifted its gaze towards him. Sensing the need for professional assistance, Trevor announced his intention to contact tech support the following day via his Twitter account. However, before he could complete the message, it underwent a glitching phenomenon, with the words "all hail the Fetid King" emerging amidst the distorted text.

  • Trevor has said that if you try to minimize your current window while he is infecting your device, “he’d only be able to shove a moldy rotten old arm out through the little window and try and grab you with it”.
  • One artwork by Trevor Henderson that shows maggots falling from the Fetid King, who is phasing through a computer screen and onto the keyboard suggests that his body is possibly decaying somehow.
