The Director is the secondary antagonist of Disney's 2008 animated feature film Bolt. He is the director of the Bolt TV show.
History[]
When reviewing footage of the latest take for an episode, the director is dismayed when he discovers a boom mic in one shot, ranting that Bolt can seen that. When Mindy Parker arrives, he discusses his vision of Bolt as a tool of expressing emotion, believing that if Bolt believes that everything he does is a real super dog. Mindy is more concerned with the rating points and complains that the show is too predictable with Penny being in danger and Bolt saving her from Dr. Calico. She threatens to fire the show's entire crew if this show loses at least half a rating point. Afraid of being fired, the director and the film crew decide to create a cliff-hanger episode to boost up the TV show's ratings, consequently leading to Bolt escaping from the trailer after believes that Calico captured Penny. While Bolt goes missing, a replacement dog is sent to fill in for the real Bolt.
Following a nasty fire in the studio, his ultimate fate is left unknown. But it can be assumed that he most likely escaped but without Penny, he would presumably loose all of the audience plus after she was replaced with a new teenage actress and subsequently got fired or continued to work as director of the studio.
