This villain was proposed but rejected by the Antagonists Wiki community for lacking what is necessary to be a Near Pure Evil villain. Therefore, this villain shall be added to our "Never Again List", where proposed villains rejected by the community shall be placed to prevent future proposals of the same evil-doer. They can be proposed again (with the permission of an NPE Wiki administrator) if new elements appear in their series that can change their status as non-NPE villains. Any act of adding this villain to the Near Pure Evil category without creating a proposal for this villain on the Near Pure Evil Wiki will result in a ban. |

~ The secret text on New Cindy's teaser, referring to the Cat. |
Candy the Cat, known better as the Cat, is the titular secondary antagonist of the Five Nights at Candy's series.
He is the overarching antagonist of Five Nights at Candy's (and the final boss of its 2019 remaster), the secondary antagonist of Five Nights at Candy's 2, and a major antagonist in the prequel Five Nights at Candy's 3. He might also return in Five Nights at Candy's 4.
He is a withered cat animatronic who is the very first incarnation of Candy the Cat. He has been stored in the Rowboatics Corp. factory ever since 1962, and is possessed by the ghost of an actor from the Rat & Cat Theater, who portrayed the character. He was strangled to death by his co-worker, the Puppeteer, to prevent him from revealing the accidental death of the Rat's actor to the police. He has a non-corporeal form called Shadow Cat, which eventually evolved into Shadow Candy.
Appearance[]
The Cat is a cat animatronic which, like it's fellow animatronic the Rat, is made out of wood and has bolts around his body. He has a chipped left ear and is missing plating around his leg. He also has a bulkier model than the Rat.
As Shadow Candy, he looks almost the same as Candy the Cat, only with a purple and dark color.
Biography[]
Five Nights at Candy's 3[]
The Cat is one of the two titular characters in the Rat & Cat Theater. He was played by an actor, but that actor got replaced. During the day which would reveal the names of the characters, the Cat would be revealed to be Candy. However, the Puppeteer killed the actor that played the Rat in self-defense. The Cat wanted the Puppeteer to be trailed for his crime, but the Puppeteer killed the Cat as he didn't want to be arrested. The Rat & Cat Theater is closed down.
Possessing the Animatronic[]
A year later, the location got reopened with the animatronic versions of the mascots. The two robots are possessed by the actors. On the reopening, the Rat attacks Mary's brother, injuring him. The location is closed down.
In 1964, a new location is opened, Candy's Burgers & Fries. However, the Cat and Rat are replaced by a new Candy and Blank the Animatronic. The Cat is left in the factory, and the Rat is kept in a storage room in the pizzeria. A year later, the Cat appears in his noncorporeal form - Shadow Candy. He leads the new Candy to the maintenance room, where the animatronic is teased by the worker.
In 1976, it turns out a child saw Shadow Candy, and drew him. Blank collects the drawing, and Shadow Candy teleports to the room.
Murdering the Twins[]
In 1987, Shadow Candy leads Old Candy to a child crying in the office. The child, seeing Candy, is happy, and goes to his father. However, the father is mad at his son. Old Candy responds by assaulting and possibly killing the adult. This results in Rowboatics deciding to create a newer version of the character.
Sometime after that, two children enter the Factory and get lost. The Cat, seeing them, puts them on a conveyor belt, where they are brutally murdered while the Rat watches in his Shadow Rat form. Eventually, a new version of Candy is made alongside, a newcomer, Cindy, who are possessed by the kids.
Five Nights at Candy's[]
Shadow Candy appears as a easter egg.
Five Nights at Candy's Remastered[]
Shadow Candy is the final antagonist and main threat of the last, optional night.
Five Nights at Candy's 2[]
In 2007, Marylin Schmidt, Mary's daughter, spends a week in the factory after losing a debt. However, after 1993, the robots at Candy's were brought here, as the Rat framed the new Candy for murdering a night guard. Marylin survives the week, with the Cat hunting her down at the final night. Marylin burns down the factory, which later crumbles, presumably destroying the Cat

Trivia[]
Gallery[]
- The Cat is the second wirelock animatronic, the first being RAT.
- The Cat, like Candy the Cat and Cindy, could be seen as a tragic character, because he was only killed so the Puppeteer could maintain his career.
- During the development of Five Nights at Candy's, Shadow Candy would've had a jumpscare. However, this was scrapped.
- Despite this, the idea was carried over to Five Nights at Candy's Remastered, where he serves as the final boss.
- He's actually never referred to as "CAT", only "the Cat".
- The theme that plays during the Shadow Candy boss fight is called the "Forgotten Theme", and said boss fight has a teaser for the fourth game, implying that CAT might return in said game (most likely as either Shadow Candy or the true identity of the Forgotten Cat).
