The Birch (formerly Laine Bouchard) is the antagonistic anti-hero of the Crypt Tv short film "The Birch" and the facebook watch series of the same name. She is a tree spirit who murders evil people and protects innocent people.

She was protrayed by Dee Wallace in the short film, and by Brady Romberg in the facebook watch series.

Backstory[]

The Birch was originally Laine Bouchard, the adoptive daughter of politican, Don bouchard, and his wife, Rachael Bouchard. She suffered cruel abuse by the Bouchards (mostly Don), and was a social outcast.

On a date with a boy named Thad, she was raped by him, leading to the birth of her daughter, Laura. Her adoptive parents make her life worse by keeping her daughter away from her, to the point where they barely let her see her at all.

Returning to school, she discovers Thad cheating on her with another girl, causing Laine to seek revenge on him by summoning the Birch. Transporting him to a forest, Laine
