The Announcer is the secondary antagonist of the story "Gumdrop Angel" from the Five Nights at Freddy's: Fazbear Frights anthology novel series.
He is an employee at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza who serves as the announcer during the parties. Aware that Freddy's makes their Birthday Gummies via transforming humans into gummy creatures, the Announcer eagerly continues their cycle but making sure one of the children at the party eats the nose that would transform them into another gummy.
Appearance[]
The Announcer is described as a young, round-faced blond boy wearing a bright red tuxedo and tophat. He is stated to be constantly smiling.
Personality[]
The Announcer is shown to be a charismatic, manipulative and sadistic figure, tricking the children into eating sentient human beings all while never dropping his smile. He even tries to turn the 5 year old Ophelia into the next gummy, showing his lack of standards and willingness to hurt anyone.
History[]
On the birthday party of Angel's 5 year old sister Ophelia, the Announcer is first seen chatting to the customers and preparing the children for a show alongside Freddy Fazbear himself. Later on, he calls Ophelia to the stage before unleashing the Birthday Gummy, a humanoid seemingly-animatronic made out of candy and gummies. He explains that the statue is for the kids to eat, but the nose is for Ophelia and her only. Once the creature's head was almost eaten, he cheerfully danced towards Ophelia and let take the creature's nose as promised, once the girl said she wants to take it home and eat it on a special occasion.
The Announcer doesn't return until the end of the story, after Angel transformed into the next Birthday Gummy via eating Ophelia's candy out of spite, and Dominic put her in a box so she could be eaten later. On the birthday party of a girl named Julie, the Announcer releases the now-Birthday Gummy Angel to the crowd so she could be eaten by the kids.
Trivia[]
- The Announcer wearing a tophat is an obvious reference to Freddy Fazbear himself.
