Squid Adler was one of the eight bosses Maverick that appeared in Megaman X5 game.
Adler was a Maverick Hunter and a member of the 6th Naval Unit, and friend of Lauch Octopus. He later resigned the position for disagreeing with the methods of the Hunters, moving to a more peaceful and reclusive life as a researcher, working new forms of energy production. During the crises that was happening in Earth, the Hunters seek help from Adler because he had the Energy Cart to can carry the Enigma Cannon. While Adler was willing to cooperate, but not before punishing the Hunters for their rude behavior, he is corrupted by the virus and attacks the Hunter, forcing the Hunter to defeat him.
Adler will float around the arena and shoot his Tri Thunder against the player, who sends three electric sparks against the player. After receiving a large number of damage, he will cover the floor with electrifies in the middle of the screen, thus limiting the player's movement. When he gets low health, he will extend his tentacles and will rage volley of bolts. His weakness is the Goo Shaver with X, and F-Splasher playing with Zero.
