Sphinx is a Phantom born of a man named Kusuda who has fallen into despair. He is the main antagonist of two episodes which are ''The Ringed Novelist'' and also ''The White Wizard's Secret''.
Also his target as Gate was a man Masafumi Saionji who was a writer looking for a woman he had met ten years earlier, who later turned out to be Koyomi. Sphinx could breathe flames in his mouth and manipulates them to fire at his enemies, he also pitched a bat to attack his enemies.
History[]
He first meets Saionji when trying to capture him but he was interrupted by the Kamen Rider Wizard who used his Wizard Hurricane Dragon and he had to retreat after being dominated by the Wizard. However he took Saionji's ring which he received from the front of him. However, Haruko soon appeared and saved Saionji's ring, then Wizard fights Sphinx again and calls the Ghouls and Wizard destroys them without much difficulty.
Then when Saionji and Koyomi go where they met, Sphinx appears and destroys his ring, driving him to despair. In Haruko and Kosuke comes to over time, while Haruko takes care of Saionji so that he does not become a Phantom, Kosuke fights against Sphinx. In the fight Beast and Sphinx use Falco Mantle, and Sphinx is destroyed by Beast when he used Beast Hyper's Shooting Mirage, while Wizard destroys the Phantom Giants with Style Dragon.
