
Simon Phoenix is the major antagonist of the 1993 science-fiction action movie Demolition Man. He was a cruel and murderous 20th century psychopath, and the archenemy of policeman John Spartan.

Biography[]
Very little is revealed about Phoenix's past life other than his becoming a cruel and anarchist criminal, and having a strong rivalry with Detective John Spartan.
Demolition Man[]
Phoenix is a cruel and psychopath criminal who was responsible for various crimes such as robbery, kidnapping and murder, he also had all the street gangs and drug dealers under in control in South Central in Los Angeles. However in his last crime he soon had a fierce confrontation with Detective John Spartan his archenemy he was defeated and captured. He later wrongly accused John Spartan of not caring about the hostages during his trial. And because of that both were frozen. But later when Phoenix is released by Raymond Cocteau to eliminate Edgar Friendly who is the leader of the resistance group called the Scraps. He also has a confrontation with Spartan that had been released to stop him. With this Phoenix cheats on Cocteau who gives his gun to one of his henchmen to kill him, and thus re-establishes his own goal of spreading chaos again.
After that, Phoenix shoots and kills Spartan's friend Zachary Lamb, and just as Spartan and Lenina Huxley follow him, they follow him to the roads of San Angeles. And during the chase Phoenix taunts Spartan by saying that the hostages that Spartan tried to save in 1996 were already dead before he got there, and that he was sent for rehabilitation for no reason. Soon after with Friendly and Lieutenant Huxley. Spartan invades the facility and fights Phoenix who uses his futuristic abilities to his advantage. Spartan later kills two Phoenix henchmen and also fights Jesse Ventura who is called Adam who killed Cocteau under Phoenix's orders. With that Phoenix kills Adam, and faces Phoenix for the last time. Then Spartan then freezes Phoenix and breaks his head killing him.
Rivalry with John Spartan[]
Phoenix has a very strong rivalry with Dectetive John Spartan as he aims to make the dogs last forever while Spartan scorns him.
Appearance[]
Phoenix is an African-American man, he was also totally athletic and muscular, he had curly blond hair shaven and shaved with a smaller black beard. He had brown eyes, but after Phoenix woke up from cryogenic sleep, his left eye charged to blue. And he has silver earrings on both ears. In 1996, he wore a black leather jacket with red lining and a black and yellow plaid pattern on the back. Already in the future in the year 2032, he wears a blue cryogenic prison jumpsuit on his chest with an orange vest with a silver band undernearth, and a gray combat uniform underground.
Personality[]
Phoenix is a cruel, sadistic, psychopath anarchist who has no other purpose than to torture, kill and being society to the dogs for his own sadistic pleasure. He also loves to play with his victims before killing them. Although the Phoenix is impulsive, murderous, barbaric and thirsty for power. He is totally intelligent, oportunistic, manipulative, polite and charming. And when he talks to Raymond Cocteau, he even acknowledges that he's evil but he doesn't care about it and even likes it. He is also a nihilistic narcissist, and also a theacherous one because he simply killed Cocteau for no apparent reason.
