
Silas Blissett is antagonist from british soap opera Hollyoaks. Silas served as the main antagonist from December 2010 up until November 2011 when he originally left the show after his crimes were exposed. Silas returned just eight months later and served as a minor antagonist in July 2012 before leaving again. Silas was once again a minor antagonist between January and May 2016, before departing once again. In October 2020 Silas returned again and appeared as a sprodic antagonist until September 2022 were he was killed off.
Silas was a serial killer who went onto murder 17 people although numbers have once stated Silas' victims could be in the 100s. Silas has killed many regular female characters one of which is fellow serial killer Lindsey Butterfield. Silas has also had feuds with Lynsey Nolan, Brendan Brady and Mercedes McQueen.
Silas was played by Jeff Rawle.
History[]
SIlas was a serial killer that would target women he deems unfaithful, this would stem from his wife cheating on Silas who Silas killed in anger, ever since Silas swore to rid the world of women who cheat or what he describes as "slutty" behaviour.
Silas made a immediate mark on his arrival when he murders India Longford in December 2010, it was later revealed he is the father of Heidi Costello who was apart of the new Costello family. Silas hid who he was well during his first stint just giving other the impression as a journalist who works at a family pub, that's until Lynsey Nolan was onto him, this led Silas to have a brief feud with Brendan Brady who was close to Lynsey, Silas was threatened by Lynsey as she knew he was the one who murdered India Longford, Rebecca Massey and later Rae Wilson. Silas was eventually caught after he killed Heidi when he mistaken Heidi for Lynsey due to the pair wearing the same Halloween costume, during this after Silas learned of Mercedes' affair with Carl, he kidnaps Mercedes who is pregnant and keeps her locked in the pub cellar. Silas was later arrested and sent to a mental institution.
Silas made a return in July 2012 after Lynsey Nolan was murdered, Silas was a suspect and he was interviewed by Will Savage, Silas later esacped got onto a hen party bus and wasn't seen again until January 2016. Lynsey's killer was eventually revealed to be Paul Browning.
In January 2016, Silas visits an imprisoned Trevor Royle under the name of "Mr. Eman", Trevor was wrongly accused of the Hospital killings that took place throughout 2015, Silas took a sadistic liking towards the murders, Silas however quickly realised that Trevor is telling the truth and leaves. Silas manages to help the real killer Lindsey Butterfield escape the police and the pair help one another in their conquests, Silas would confront Mercedes after many years, Silas would realise that Mercedes has moved on with her life and after finding out Lindsey slept with Freddie Roscoe behind Joe's back, Silas kills Lindsey and even references Lynsey Nolan by stating that Lindsey isn't worthy of the name. Silas leaves after killing Lindsey.
Silas makes another return in October 2020 as its revealed his the one who has been blackmailing the whole McQueen family behind a robot doll along with his grandson Seth Costello. Silas will once again attempt to kill Mercedes but he is stopped by his grandson Bobby Costello who even saves Silas, Silas keeps in contact with Bobby for the whole year afterwards and even sends his estranged daughter Webdy Blisset to help kidnap Bobby but when Wendy dies, Silas is forced to return to the village and attempt to take Bobby himself, he does his best to kill the McQueen's he kills a couple of more people including a man (Silas never killed men). Silas' reign was finally put to an end when Bobby pushed him on some live electrics which electrocuted and killed Silas.
