Serena Ryan is the main antagonist of the 2022 film Beavis and Butt-Head Do The Universe.

She is a former astronaut turned governor of Texas who after leaving Beavis and Butt-head for dead in 1998 when they sabotaged her team's space mission is horrified to find that they have returned to the present 24 years later. Mistakenly believing that the two want to expose her for her past actions (they instead mistakenly and repeatedly believe that she is offering them sex) she seeks to kill them again.

She was voiced by Andrea Savage.

Biography[]

1998[]

Serena was an astronaut and captain of her own space team that later included Beavis and Butt-Head when the duo where sentenced to eight weeks in Space Camp after causing huge destruction at Highland High School's science fair. Serena and her men mistakenly believed the two were intelligent and passionate about space travel when they saw the boys obsessively use a docking simulator for 18 hours without breaks, not realizing that the two's fascination with it actually came from its vague resemblance to a penis. Serena invites the boys to join her team on their newest exhibition which the duo mistakenly believe is an offer for sex. As such, the duo immediately agree.

On the trip Beavis and Butt-Head manage to accidentally sabotage the entire mission and compromise the ship after playing with random buttons, during a transmission back to earth the crew are told that two of them will need to sacrifice themselves in order to safely make the voyage home. Serena, although furious at Beavis and Butt-Head volunteers herself, as does another crewman. Unfortunately however Beavis and Butt-Head mistake this as another offer for sex and leave the ship themselves while Serena is getting dressed. In a fit of fury Serena, hits the duo with part of the shuttle's extensions sending them spiraling into a black hole, where they are presumed dead.

Serena and her crew later returned to Earth after three weeks of being stranded in space.

2022[]

In the present, Serena is the governor of Texas and is preparing to run for re-election when Beavis and Butt-Head unexpectedly return home. Serena believes that the two will expose her for attempted murder and as such immediately sets out to apprehend and kill them. However, the two still only believe that she is offering them sex. After tracking them down alongside two government officials from the pentagon mistaking the two for aliens, the two parties realize they want the same thing and agree to kill them. At the last moment, however, she finally realizes that two aren't trying to expose her, but are instead just stupid and horny teenagers and decides to abandon her pursuit of them.

Shortly thereafter, Serena has sex with an alternate reality version of Beavis known simply as Smart Beavis before quickly leaving him, immediately regretting the decision. This ultimately made Smart Beavis the first version of either Beavis and Butt-Head in any universe to actually succeed in having sex.

Personality[]

Originally, Serena was a polite, compassionate and decent albeit somewhat egotistical person who genuinely had passion for her work. After her encounter with Beavis and Butt-Head and being stranded in space for three weeks however she appears to have grown much more cynical, jaded, rude, condescending and short tempered. When she encounters the duo again in the present she begins a single minded obsession with killing the duo, mistakenly believing that they have returned to expose her and ruin her chances of running for governor, at the same time she only cares for this profession for the power it gives and even mocks her own voters.

Upon realizing her own mistakes and how stupid Beavis and Butt-Head actually are Serena seemingly changes at least somewhat for the better and loses her crueller nature.

Appearance[]

Serena is a very tall and attractive woman with a slim build, tanned skin, brown eyes and brown hair. In the present she is seen wearing a blue, tailored business suit with a white blouse, black shoes, gold necklace, silver earring and red nail polish. In the past she was seen wearing a blue NASA jumpsuit and later a spacesuit. Her hair also changes from the past and present in the film with it being long in the past and bobbed in the present.
