But wherefore should Middle-earth remain forever desolate and dark, whereas the Elves could make it as fair as Eressëa, nay even as Valinor? And since you have not returned thither, as you might, I perceive that you love this Middle-earth, as do I. Is it not then our task to labour together for its enrichment, and for the raising of all the Elven-kindreds that wander here untaught to the height of that power and knowledge which those have who are beyond the Sea?"

Of the Rings of Power[]

After Morgoth was overthrown Sauron went to Eönwë and took a fair shape and asking for repentance but it was not in Eönwë's power to forgive Sauron and he commanded Sauron to leave Middle-earth and return to Aman. But Sauron was ashamed and didn't want to return to Aman because he would have to be judged by Manwë for his evil deeds. Thus he fled and went into hiding.

When Sauron discovered the Men of the South and the East he already started to corrupt them. But he desired more to bring the Elves under his influence. So he appeared for the Elves with the name Annatar, Lord of Gifts and told them he was a messenger of the Valar. Elrond and Gil-galad the rulers of Lindon didn't trust Sauron and he never was allowed there. But in Eregion he was gladly received. Sauron aided the Elves of Eregion in there smith-crafting and his wisdom was great and through manipulation he succeeded that the Elves created the Rings of Power.

But in secret Sauron created in Mordor a master ring to rule them all from the burning mountain. With the One Ring he could speak into the mind of the bearers of the Ring of Powers. But when he put the ring on it they felt his pressence and discovered who he was and his plans. Thus his attempt to dominate the Elves failed. He declared open war upon them and that all the rings must be given to him but the rings where already hidden. A big war came between the forces of Eregion and Sauron's forces and Eregion was destroyed and gathered most of the Rings of Powers except the 3 most powerful.

Then Sauron give 7 Rings of Power to the Dwarves. But the Dwarves where proven to hard and tough to tame. He give 9 to Men who became immortal and powerful and they became the greatest of their kind for a time. But it also became there undoing and they slowly turned in the Nazgul the most terrible servants of Sauron.

Sauron now declared himself King of Men and Lord of the Earth. He gathered all the remaining forces of the former army of Morgoth wich include Orcs, Trolls and Fell beasts. But the King of Númenor got offended by this and marched with a great army so powerful that Sauron's forces fled from them. Realising that he cannot defeat the Númenorean army, Sauron humbled himself before the King and was taken back to Númenor as a prisoner. Sauron by cunning and scheming succeeded to turn the Númeróreans against the Valar of the West, he converts many of them into worshiping Melkor and had them build a Temple where they will commit human sacrifice. He convinces the King of Númenor to sail West and attack Valinor with a massive armada of warships and seize immortality. But Eru's wrath was terrible and he sunk Númenor beneath the sea. Sauron's body was destroyed but his spirit survived and was heavily damaged and he could never take a fair shape again.

When Sauron's spirit returned he saw that the survivors of the sinking of Númenor had build several cities including Osgiliath, Minas Tirith and Minas Ithil. Sauron waged war against the Elves and the Men of the West. He began by attacking Minas Ithil and destroyed the white tree but Isildur escaped. He later attacked Osgiliath but failed the first time and was reinforcing. But the leader of Gondor, Isildur and his brother Anarion have asked help from their father Elendil the King of Arnor and Gil-galad the High King of the Noldor, they decided to work together and they created the Last Alliance of Elves and Men.

The Last Alliance led there forces during the battle of Dagorlad on the plains for Mordor and the forces of Gil-galad were victorious. They besieged Mordor which took 7 years. At the end Sauron himself came out and he fought Gil-galad and Elendil and won but Sauron himself was also thrown down and Isildur picked Up Narsil and cut the ring of his finger claiming it as his own.

Sauron then appears in this film, and says, "Three rings for the Elven-kings under the sky . . . Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone . . ." and leaves Galadriel to finish the rest. Then, he commands the Nazgûl to kill her, but the Nazgul are easily defeated by Elrond and Saruman. Sauron then shows up with the Nazgûl, saying "The time of the Orc has come." He then tries to kill the three, but Galadriel protects Saruman and Elrond, and proves herself to be far more powerful than Sauron. She calls him a servant of Morgoth, and also calls him names like "nameless, faceless, formless". Seconds after this, Galadriel banishes Sauron and the Nazgûl into Mordor, where he will get his revenge. There, he turns into the Great Eye and creates a far more brutal Orc army.
