"Correct. And should Dorzak make you reluctant may I remind you that if I choose to ignite the photon drive before I am clear of Alpha, all life here will be extinguished by radiation."
~ Sahala (Maya)'s "ultimatum"
"It's the language you appear to understand. I expect the Psychon immediately."
~ Sahala showing her hypocrisy in threatening mass murder.

Sahala truly Maya in disguise is an impersonation forged to get closer to Dorzak, and serves as one of the two secondary antagonists alongside the original of the Space 1999 episode Dorzak. The idea to shapeshift into Sahala was created by Tony who decided that the truth would be perfectly clear if Dorzak saw an enemy he didn't have to act his away through using charisma. Therefore they wished Maya now Sahala through this perilous mission.

Like the original she is portrayed by Jill Townsend.

Biography[]

"Sahala" had managed to break out of her imprisonment and decided to leave the Alphan ship with her prisoner Dorzak without anymore of waiting. Therefore she took the Alphan doctor Helena hostage and began to walk through the hallways towards a transport tube. Tony warned nobody to intercept them. After reaching the Croton gave a harrowing message to the Alphans.

She needed the Psychon Dorzak or she would release radiation to kill all of them if they refused to meet her demands. Flabbergasted at how this was allowed to happen Tony submitted and brought Dorzak as required. Therefore the trade was made smoothly and Sahala took Dorzak into her ship hastily.

Sahala mocked the Psychon alleging him as a warmongering and a dangerous criminal. Reassuring him that she will not fall to his influence. Suddenly though he wasn't fretting instead she was as he exposed Maya in disguise. Revealing that the real Sahala would understand the purpose of the chip blocking his mind control waves. Thus Maya dropped the act and the "threat" of Sahala seemingly was neutralized to the Alphan crew.

Appearance[]

As Maya can replicate anyone down to the finest detail, Sahala has blonde hair and white skin. Coupled with a light gray dress revealing her right shoulder. It is embroidered with white fur.

Personality[]

This Sahala is characterized by Maya as more psychopathic than the original because now her patience has been exhausted. To escape custody she will harm anyone in her way like holding Helena prisoner all while being emotionless about it. Another time it is shown is when she demonstrates her hypocrisy and is willing to kill all Alphans for Dorzak.

Essentially she trades Helena as a meat shield and has no qualms about holding her captive in fear as well as her fearmongering tactics. Even after getting Dorzak she is defensive showing no compassion to Alphans in the process. And when Dorzak meets her she claims his species are savages and shows cowardice when she is exposed, right before the Alter-Ego's death.

Trivia[]

  • Tony made Maya act this psychopathic as Sahala simply to make it certain Dorzak would confront her. Even Dorzak seemed to fall for it at a certain point but it may have been because it fit his depiction of Sahala.
