Roose Bolton is a recurring antagonist of the novel A Song of Ice and Fire as well as it's TV adaptation, Game of Thrones; serving as one of the secondary antagonists in Seasons 3-5 and the quaternary antagonist in Season 6.
The duplicitous patrich of House Bolton and father of Ramsay Bolton, he was the murderer of Robb Stark - after Roose had conspired with Walder Frey to help Tywin Lannister carry out the "Red Wedding", in which they betrayed the Starks by slaughtering Robb's family and bannermen on the Lannister's behalf. Following this treachery, Roose became "Warden of the North" and ruled Winterfell until his untimely murder at the hands of Ramsey in Season 6; Roose's death would later be avenged when Ramsey's archenemy John Snow defeated him in the "Battle of Bastards" and his estranged ex-wife Sansa Stark fed Ramsey to his starving hounds, thus resulting in the downfall and extinction of House Bolton.
