| “ | Tell us how it feels knowing you may never see your children again. | „ |
| ~ Rex Pester's catchphrase. |
Rex Pester is a major antagonist of Nickelodeon's 3rd animated feature film The Rugrats Movie.
He is a news reporter and was voiced by Tim Curry.
Biography[]
True to his name, he is a nosy, selfish, and arrogant news reporter--a real pest. Constantly getting the names of the missing babies wrong and blowing the situation out of proportion--making everything even worse. He's also rather callous and uncaring towards the situation: he asks Didi "Tell us how it feels knowing you may never see your children again." And even after being called out by Betty for that question, Rex repeats the question to Didi, with the word, "please". As Drew and Charlotte arrive, Rex proceeds to hound Drew about how he felt knowing that "your brother lost your only daughter?" Furious at this news, Drew tackles Stu with the other adults trying to break up the fight. Rex then displays the missing rugrats' photos (mispronouncing all their names) and ends his report there.
Later on, Rex and his pilot are flying over the forest on their news helicopter when Stu accidentally crashes into the chopper in his Dactar Glider. As Rex tries to push Stu out, Stu accidentally yanks out the helicopter's throttle, causing it to tailspin out of control and crash-land into the forest below.
When the Rugrats are reunited with their parents, an injured Rex shoves away another reporter already on the scene. The Circus Monkeys promptly ambush Rex and steal his toupee, much to the babies and adults' amusement. What happened to Rex after that is currently unknown.
