The Toys are the main antagonists of the Poppy Playtime franchise. They are former humans modified by Playtime CO. into living toys. One day, the monsters escaped their cages and started wreaking havoc in the factory.

Biography[]

All the living toys were apparently created by the Playtime Company for unknown reasons by using humans like Marie Payne to create such toys, Mommy Long Legs' in Marie's case.

At 11:00 am, on August 8th, 1995 with The Prototype's help, the monstrous toys broke out and caused a carnage in the Poppy Playtime's factory murdering and devouring all employees in it, leaving the factory completely abandoned for 10 years. For unknown reasons, none of the toys managed to leave the factory (this massacre would be known as The Hour of Joy).

Known toys[]

Poppy Playtime[]

Poppy Playtime is one of, if not, the very first of the successful experiments created by Playtime Company through the use of an unidentified human, most likely Elliot Ludwig's deceased child. She's a small white-skinned, porcelain doll with red hair, large eyes and a short blue dress. Years before Poppy Playtime, she only witnessed the "Hour of Joy", but with great sadness, before being later locked away in a glass case by The Prototype. Years later, she's found by the Protagonist in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1, where she's trapped inside a glass case in a red child's room, being freed by them, ending the first chapter. In Chapter 2, she guides the Protagonist through the factory until she's kidnapped by Mommy Long Legs and held hostage until the end of the chapter where she's once again freed and "betrays" the Protagonist, forcing them to stay in the factory longer, stating they need to stay and "make things right", before the train ends up derailing. The Protagonist is later saved by her Chapter 3 from Kissy Missy, she then allies herself with both of them, working together to take down CatNap and then travel even deeper in the factory with the Protagonist, while leaving Kissy behind, who's seemingly attacked by another Experiment.

Huggy Wuggy[]

Huggy Wuggy is Experiment-1170, as part of the Bigger Bodies Initiative, created by Playtime Company through the use of an unidentified human. He's a tall blue furred creature with dilated eyes and a red-lipped mouth full of sharp teeth. Years before Poppy Playtime, he managed to escape the factory and hides into a forest, managing to kill some of the security workers before being captured again. During the events of the "Hour of Joy", Huggy awakened in the factory's entrace and started to kill all humans around him as commanded by the Prototype. At some point later, he's free around the factory in Project Playtime where he's ordered to kill the Resource Extraction Specialists before they manage to make a new toy and escape through The Train by The Prototype. He's also encountered in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1 at the entrance of the factory seemingly guarding it against intruders pretending to be a statue as usual, he later goes out to hunt down the Protagonist through the chapter's climax, but in the end they force a box fall onto Huggy, making him fall down into the depths of the factory. In Chapter 2, blue fur can be found around a wall, hinting that Huggy was dragged away by the Prototype to graft him on his body. According to Poppy in Chapter 3 however, Huggy actually died in the fall. Even in death however, Huggy briefly returned in Chapter 3 in one the Protagonist's nightmares caused by CatNap's red gas, now in a twisted, nightmarish appearance, devouring them and causing them to wake up.

Kissy Missy is one of the experiments, as part of the Bigger Bodies Initiative, created by Playtime Company through the use of an unidentified human. She's extremely similar to her partner, but possessing pink-colored fur and eyelashes. At some point later, an aggressive Kissy Missy is free in the factory in Project Playtime where she's ordered to kill the Resource Extraction Specialists before they manage to make a new toy and escape through the treain by The Prototype (however this could be considered as non-canon due to her being only a Huggy Wuggy skin). She also encounters the Protagonist for the first time in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2, helping them get through a gate by pulling down a lever before walking away. In Chapter 3, she returns in Home Sweet Home and tries to attack the Protagonist before they're rescued by Poppy, who calms her down, however, in the end of the chapter as the Protagonist and Poppy go deeper into the factory through an elevator with Kissy's help, something appears to attack with them unable to do anything to help her.

She's also found in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2, in the depths of the Playtime Factory, kidnapping Poppy and holding her hostage while watching the Protagonist go against her games; Musical Memory, Whack-a-Wuggy and Statues, at the climax of the chapter she starts chasing the Protagonist after they cheated to get out alive, during the chase, one of her hands get trapped in a compactor, the Protagonist turns it on making her body get brutally crushed leaving only her upper torso out that's quickly dragged away by the Prototype.

Mini Huggies are as their name suggest, smaller experiments similar to Huggy Wuggy created by Playtime Company through the use of unidentified humans as part of the Whack-a-Wuggy game. they are identical to Huggy Wuggy but smaller, toothless and can come in many colors: red, orange, blue, green, purple, pink (Kissy) and yellow. Years before Poppy Playtime, they're seen in a room in the Playtime Factory. Later on, during the "Hour of Joy", a group of mini Huggies and Smiling Critters together started attacking people around, devouring the employees there as ordered by the Prototype. At some point later they're found free in Project Playtime where the blue ones yell to alert Huggy about members of the Resource Extraction Specialists and the others stay inside the Feeding Pit, devouring anyone who's thrown inside, however they're known as Wuggies instead. The Prototype[]

The Prototype is the 1006 Experiment created by the Playtime Company probably through the use of an unidentified human, being the most intelligent and dangerous experiment of them all. He's not fully revealed at the moment, but his arm is shown to be mechanic, covered in blue and red wires and bones with extremely long and sharp claws.
