Biography[]

Past[]

Oscar was born on June 1, 1939, to Pop and Oscarina Grouch in the suburbs of Grouch Land. He had an older brother named Ernest, whom he despised, due to him being the favorite kid in the family.

In the mid 1940s, Oscar grew up with an other fellow Grouch Felix, who got along in their childhood due to their love of trash. In high school (around 1955-1957), Oscar attended Miss Blechman's class who often wrote made him write his name in a chalkboard one hundred times, when he was acting grouchy.

In 1968 or January, 1969, Oscar moved back out of Grouch Land in order to start a new life and annoy more people, and later moved into a trash can in Sesame Street.

Oscar lives in a trash can between Big Bird's nest and 123 Sesame Street building; as of Season 46, his trash can has relocated to a dumpster unit outside the left windows of 123 Sesame Street, and has the ability to pop up in different trash receptacles. He has also been the longtime arch-rival of Big Bird and Elmo. Oscar has had many pets, but his closest companion is a worm Slimey. He also has a girlfriend, a grouch named Grundgetta although a romantic relationship between two grouches is understandably rocky. Grundgetta usually calls him Oskie while he occasionally calls her Grungie. Telly and Elmo both consider Oscar to be a close friend, although Oscar disputes this since Telly and Elmo are the two monsters that Oscar doesn't like at all. However, Oscar reluctantly confirmed in Grouchland that Elmo was indeed his friend.
