Norman Bates is the main antagonist of the novel and film Psycho, and the protagonist/antihero of the rest of the films in the series. He is a motel owner and serial killer who murders women while under the control of an alternate personality taking the form of his late mother, whom he himself murdered.
He is portrayed by the late Anthony Perkins.
