Charles Montgomery Burns is the main antagonist of The Simpsons franchise. Charles was a happy and amiable child at a young age. He left his parents to live with his grandfather and heartless billionaire Colonel WainWright Burns and in doing so accidentally left His beloved teddy bear Bobo Behind WainWright molded Burns into the ruthless Evil Man He became. Presumably, nine of Burns' Siblings accompanied him but died under suspicious circumstances leaving Him as the sole heir to the family fortune. Burns also Served in World War 2 as a member of the Flying Hellfish Serving Under Abraham Simpson during the Closing Years of the War Burns Came across Several Valuable Paintings and agreed With the other Members of the Hellfish that to Steal the paintings and theyWould go to Which Ever of them Survived the longest. Burns then Spent Much of his time as a bio Chemist and Bio Terrorist before Opening The Springfeild Nuclear Power Plant When Burns,s assistant Waylon Smithers Sr died Saving Springfeild From a Meltdown Burns decided to take in his Son Waylon Smithers Jr When the boy Went onto become His assistant Burns Would often insult and Berate Him However on occasion He Has Expressed genuine Care for Smithers. Burns gave the highly incompetent Homer Simpson a job as Safety Inspector While this Seems Strange Burns does not have Much regard for Safety to begin with as shown by the Many times he,s seen dumping toxic Waste.In spite of His Cruelty Burns does have a Softer Side in Season 2 Homer tried a new hair growth Fomula called Dimoxinil Which Won him a promotion at Work Which Was Short lived When it was revealed He fraudulently Charged Dimoxinil to the company,s Health Plan instead of Firing Homer Burns gave Him his old him job back Sympathizing Due to His Own Baldness after Burns accidentally Hit Bart With a car He Expressed No Concern for the boy and Wanted to leave Him for dead Homer Chose to Exsploit the situation by Exagerating Bart,s injuries in order to get a better Settlement From Burns However Burns Was able to Win the Case by getting Homer,s Wife Marge on the Stand and Making her confess to Homer,s perjury Burns Would Continue to have a vitriolic relationship With Homer despite often not being able to remember His Name When Burns needed a blood transfusion Homer saw it as a chance to gain his Favor by Having Bart give blood and Was Furious When Burns gave him No Monetary reward and Sent Burns a venomous Letter Burns asked Smithers to arrange an assault on Homer but Smithers Couldn,t bring himself to do it as Homer had helped Save Burns,s life When Smithers Explained His reasons Burns decided to re pay his debts by Sending The Simpsons a rare Indian Olmec Head Satue Shortly after This Burns had Homer Comitted to an asylum for Wearing a pink Shirt after Making a million dollar bet With another Power Plant Owner His Company baseball team Could Win in a game Burns Chose to Cheat Employing Profesionals in order to give them positions on the team Surprisingly it Was not any of those Players but instead Homer Who Won the game for Burns. after the Simpon Family dog ran away Burns adopted it and used brainwashing techniques to turn Him into a bloodthirsty Killer However Bart Rminded Santa,s Little Helper of the good times they had and snapped Him Out Of It . When Homer,s Wife Marge got a job at the plant Burns attempted to Pursue her and Fired Her upon learning of Her Marital Status When Homer stood Up for Marge Burns Was touched and ordered Smithers to Kidnap Tom Jones Making him perform for Homer and Marge to make them Happy When Homer needed Surgery Burns attempted to pull the Plug on His life Support to avoid Having to pay the health insurance.Burns Dreamt of Bobo and Decided to get him back after learning He Had Fallen into possession of the Simpson Family Homer Was initially ready to Hand over the bear in Exchange For Millions of dollars and three Islands He went back on the deal Upon realising his baby daughter Maggie Would Miss the bear in order to got the bear Back Burns got rid of tv in Springfeild and Cut off the beer Supply the towns people Made Homer give the bear only to give it to Maggie upon Seeing her Devasated Expression. Burns, however, managed to convince Maggie to give the bear back to him. Burns continued to have a negative impact on The Simpsons Lives Sometimes Unintentionally He had a casino in Springfield built leading Marge to develop a gambling addiction which she only Overcame after Homer Snapped Her out of it Burns later Chose Bart to be his heir Bart enjoyed living With Burns but Eventually Wished to return to His Family but Burns Manipulated Him into thinking His Family Never Cared for Him Burns then had Bart fire employees Which He enjoyed Until He Was told to Fire Homer Which Bart refused to do Causing Burns to disown Him . Burns then returned to His Feud With Abraham Competing With him in order to Win the affection of Marge's mother Miss Bouvier. She ultimately decided against Marrying Either of them Leaving Burns Heartbroken as He Sincerely loved Her. Burns is also a member of the Springfield Republican party Helping to get Homicidal Maniac Sideshow Bob Elected as Mayor .Burns Stole the greyhound Puppies of Santa's Little Helper and Planned to Kill them in order to make a tuxedo but ultimately Couldn't,t go through With it as they were too Cute. Burns was shot when he tried to steal candy from Maggie but nothing came of it as no court in the world was going to convict a baby. Burns saved Smithers from an attempted suicide and had him take a vacation In Smithers absence Burns Employed Homer as His assistant While Homer actually Worked Hard it did not Stop Burns from ridiculing Him Causing Homer to snap and Punch Burns after this Burns Kept Homer away from Him and Started becoming Self reliant this Meant that When Smithers returned Burns Fired Him However after a fight between Homer and Smithers landed Burns in hospital He Was forced to employ Smithers as his assistant once More Following this Burns learned one of The Hellfish Asa Phelps had died leaving him and Abraham as the Sole Survivors He then plotted to get the painting by arranging a Hit on Abe But aforementioned Hit Was Unsuccessful When it looked like Abe Was going to get the treasure Burns decided to distract Him by placing Bart's life in danger however in the end neither Man got the Paintings and they were returned to the original owners' relatives. As touched on before Burns has a terrible love life having pursued policewoman Gloria who rejected him in favor of the criminal Snake. Before the series began Burns was involved in a relationship with his cousin Lyla but it ended when he told her he would not even spend five minutes every day thinking about others eventually Burns re united with her at the peak inn When he found her dead Burns was crushed and followed Smithers advice to Honor Lyla's request and did so by working at the soup kitchen however this did not stop Burns committing atrocious acts.
