Mickey Altieri is the secondary antagonist of Scream 2 and he was one of Sidney Prescott's best friends at Windsor College. He was obsessed with movies and often filmed whatever was going on. He subtly increased paranoia and suspicion, when the killing spree began with intimate conversations.

Background[]
He was a killer before the events of Scream 2. He met Nancy Loomis, first Ghostface killer Billy Loomis' mother on a website and she helped him get into college. While there, befriended Sidney Prescott and Randy Meeks, the survivors of the 1996 Woodsboro massacre, as well as Sid's boyfriend Derek Feldman. He also dated her roommate Hallie McDaniel to be more close in her life.
Scream 2 []
His first victims were Phil Stevens and Maureen Evans, two Windsor College students who were at a movie theater. He and Nancy went to kill them because their names were similar to Billy and Stu Macher's first victims Maureen Prescott and Steve Orth. He or Nancy hid in a stall next to Phil and stabbed him in the ear, killing him. Mickey put on his jacket making Maureen think he was Phil. When she noticed she had blood on her hands, he stabbed her and sadistically stabs her some more while the crowd thought it was a publicity stunt. Mickey soon escaped from the side door of the theater.
In film class, he first responded to one of his classmates after she explained that movies were not responsible for their actions explaining that it was classic case of life. He also explained to Randy that the killer patterned himself after Billy and Stu had been immortalized via film. He also claimed that movie sequels can be better than the original for example Terminator 2 and The Godfather Part 2. While seemingly having a solid bond with Randy, under this he is deranged and psychotic. He has a fascination with murderers and how the media affected them. After class, he is seen walking with the others on campus. Seeing Gale Weathers, he records with his camera. Later, he claimed that Delta Landers sucked. Later then, he told the group that Maureen, who was his victim, gotten stabbed seven times. He watched Sidney punch Gale in shock.
One of his next victims was Cici Cooper. While she was on sober sister duty, either he or Nancy gone after her, stabbed her twice in her back, and threw her off of the balcony to her death. During a mixer party, he asked his girlfriend Hallie if she wanted to dance. She told him she wanted but there was a student who probably antagonized her. After she left, Randy showed up. Mickey told him that Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back had a better story and it was proven facts about it. Later after being questioned on the death of Cici Cooper, Mickey sat with Sidney and pretended to care for her (Mickey was the one that killed Cici).
At the cafeteria, he danced to Derek's song for Sidney and applauded him with the other college students.
He would then move to kill two police officers who were to keep Sid safe and then his own girlfriend Hallie and lastly his own friend Derek before confronting Sidney. He told her that he planned to get caught and have a trial to be immortalized and be talked about by the whole world. After their fight and Derek being risen above the stage, Mickey revealed that Nancy Loomis, Billy's mother, was in on the murders and told Sid and Gale how they met. Nancy would then tell him that there wouldn't be a trial betraying him by shooting him thrice. While Mickey fell to the floor, he ended up shooting Gale and presumably died but pulled the Final Scare trope dying for real after getting shot up by Sid and Gale ending his reign of terror.
