Megatron X, also known as The Other One, is a major antagonist of Transformers: Cyberverse, serving as a major antagonist in Season 3, and the overarching antagonist of the TV film finale, The Perfect Decepticons.
He was voiced by Marc Thompson, who also voiced his original counterpart, Tarn and Soundblaster on the show.
Appearance[]
Megatron X is almost twice the height of his original counterpart and features a prominently darker color scheme, being black while using his primary counterpart's Earth mode kibble. He shrinks over the course of his debut, becoming the same size as his primary counterpart by the time his Matrix is destroyed.
Personality[]
An alternate version of Megatron who has proven to be far more monstrous that even unsettled him, in stark contrast to his original self, Megatron X is characterized as a brutal sociopath whose primary goal is to exterminate the Autobots and Decepticons and repeat it over other universes, while also showing no care for anyone nor does he feel any form of remorse over the countless crimes he committed. While Megatron in the Cyberverse timeline was someone who wants to make peace with Optimus and willingly tries to save his universe from destruction, this one has no interest in peace or trying to save all life in his universe. Instead, he seeks to continue committing genocides on all Autobots and most Decepticons and spread it towards other universes.
When he eliminated most life in his universe, he felt satisfied and then abused the massacre's survivors for centuries. It isn't until he discovers the Quintessons and that there exists endless universes, which motivates him into seeking out these universes, so that he may continue to kill all Autobots and Decepticons in them. When he discovered another counterpart of him, he hated him and managed to kill him, calling him "weak and pathetic" and a "failure" for allowing his universe's Optimus to live instead of killing him.
Biography[]
Past[]
This Megatron started as the same as his original counterpart. A gladiator and miner in Cybertron that eventually gained power and became corrupt. When the Great War happened in his universe, Optimus Prime confronted him and tried to convince him to stop his conquest. When Megatron refuses, he decided to shoot Optimus Prime point-blank with his fusion cannon. Usurping the Matrix of Leadership from his dying body, he proceeded to win the Great War by successfully wiping out all the Autobots.
Now free from all enemies, he used the AllSpark and Vector Sigma to create his race of "Perfect Decepticons", reprogramming their minds to become his mindless slaves. After this, he proceeded to get rid of most of the original Decepticons for being unneeded anymore. Millions of years later, the Quintessons arrive at his universe, but Megatron X was prepared and killed them all with a laser snare before salvaging their multiverse technology from the wreckage, planning to use it one day to travel across universes.
Then his universe was visited by the Megatron from the original timeline, who managed to steal his Matrix and flew back to his own universe, Megatron X responded first by shooting him in the left eye, but he managed to escape anyway along with the universe's survivors. Furious by this, he managed to locate the original universe and send his Perfect Decepticons to distract them.
The Other One[]
Later showing up using a teleporter, he manages to brutally beat his original counterpart, calls him unworthy and a failure to his name. and blasts a hole into the middle of his chest, mortally wounding him. Megatron tries to tell his Optimus to take the Matrix of Leadership, but Megatron X manages to rip out the Matrix from his other counterpart, killing him. He tries to reinsert the Matrix into himself and repeat his genocide to this universe, but Bumblebee swipes it from him at the last moment and flees with it. Megatron X decides to chase him down for it, eventually catching up with him and was surprised to see Bumblebee become a hero.
Nevertheless, he tried to kill him anyways but Optimus shows up and battles Megatron X with his Matrix. Megatron X responded with his, gloating that it would be his second time killing his arch-enemy. Unfortunately for him, Windblade (a part of her was trapped inside his Matrix) sabatodges his Matrix and short-circuits him. The injured Megatron X was taken away by Astrotrain, who takes him into the multiverse and keep him trapped inside his body for all eternity.
Bumbleebee's Cyberverse Adventures, Part 2: The Perfect Decepticons[]
Megatron X briefly appears in the film in a flashback. It is revealed that his wounds were fatal, and he slowly succumbed to his wounds thanks to Astrotrain seeking revenge. Seeking revenge for their master's death, the Perfect Decepticons kill Astrotrain before waging war against each other to find out who all can be his successor, to which the only one to have freed himself from Megatron X's programming, Tarn, does so by bringing the conflict to the main universe's Cybertron to manipulate the Autobots and Decepticons there to gain the Cortex Helm to make himself their leader. Soundwave eventually catches hold of it to remove Megatron X's and Tarn's programming, freeing all the Perfect Decepticons.
