Max Branning is the antagonist from british soap opera EastEnders.
Max was first seen in June 2006 and served as a main antagonist by 2008 although eventually alongside Archie Mitchell, Max was deceitful but charming, hot headed but clever. Max is known for embarking on many affairs most notably his own sons, Bradley Branning's girlfriend turned wife, Stacey Slater.
Max had many feuds which included his own brothers in Jack and Derek Branning, Carl White, Sean Slater, Ian Beale and despite being friends at first Max would find himself on the list of enemies of Phil Mitchell.
Max Branning is played by Jake Wood.
History[]
First seen in June 2006, Max arrives in Walford to begin an new life with his wife Tanya and two daughters Lauren and Abi. Max reconciles with his son Bradley Branning. Max would enter into a year long affair with Bradley's girlfriend Stacey Slater all the while clashing with Stacey's older brother Sean Slater, Max and Stacey are found out by Sean on tge day of Stacey's wedding to Bradley in November 2007 however the pair would not be exposed until Christmas day 2007 thanks to Lauren. Max would be burried alive by Tanya with the help of Sean however Tanya's guilt would get the better of her and she saves Max before its too late.
It's obvious Max had difficul relationships with his family first his father Jim Branning as well as his younger brother Jack Branning. Max is furious to learn by mid 2008 that Jack and Tanya are a couple, as a result, Max does everything in his power to play the kids off Tanya and Jack. Max's deeds would catch up with him when his ran down by someone close to him, his own daughter Lauren.
By 2014, Max would embark on a lustful relationship with Lucy Beale, however tragically Lucy is murdered by an unknown person, Max would eventually be set up for the murder by Ian and Jane Beale as well as the help of Phil Mitchell. Max is released a year later when Lucy's real killer is out in the open, her own brother Bobby Beale. What follows is Max on a vengeful path targeting the locals of walford, seeing Max attempt murders and even accidentally killing Steven Beale, Max's downfall came by Christmas 2017 and as a result of his actions, Max would Indirectly cause the death of his daugher Abi.
During all the above Max would sleep with Stacy again and cause the marriage fall of Stacey and Martin Fowler. Max would go on a redeeming route for a few years until he pursuits Linda Carter but after realising there is no chance of a relationship, Max packs his bags and leaves Walford for good.
