Mario and Luigi's father is the overarching protagonist of Illumination's 13th feature film, The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Despite the fact he is a protagonist, he doesn't believe in Mario's dream of making a plumbing business and thinks he's a failure for it, which makes him an antagonist.
He was voiced by Charles Martinet.
History[]
The day that Mario and Luigi had their first job and come back home, their father tells him that he shouldn't have made their plumbing business and instead kept working for Foreman Spike.
After the dinner, Mario starts playing Kid Icarus by himself until he sees that Brooklyn has gotten a major flood from the sewage pipe. So, Mario and Luigi come to investigate, and end up inside a warp pipe that leads them into the Mushroom Kingdom.
When the Bomber Bill exploded inside the warp pipe and caused the entire Mushroom Kingdom to get sucked into the pipe to Brooklyn, Mario and Luigi's father and mother come to watch their sons collect the Super Star and stop Koopa Troop in happiness.
Once Brooklyn is saved, Mario and Luigi's father rushes to them and hugs them, ultimately redeeming himself.
