Manfred Von Karma is the main antagonist in the Ace Attorney franchise.

He is regarded as the God of Prosecution being obsessed with protecting his perfect resolved record, doing so by forging evidence and killing anyone who stands in his way of getting it. He is also the biological father of Francisca Von Karma and the adoptive father of Miles Edgeworth.

History[]

Biography[]

Von Karma was known as the god of prosecutors. And in all trials, Von Karma played the judge, and always leaves the defendant, lawyer and witnesses as puppets. And in all of his cases, his testimony was perfectly clean and without leaving any evidence that could make him lose a case. He never lost a case, always valuing his perfect record.

The IS-7 Incident[]

He was assigned to case that would be known as the IS-7 and the accused was Issei Tenkai (Jeff Master in the translation of the fans), he was a famous pastry chef who was the main suspect in the murder of Paul Holic a sculptor who participated in a contest in which Jeff organized in his mansion, which would later be the scene of the crime. And the lawyer who was assigned to the case was Gregory Edgeworth who confronted Von Karma directly at the crime scene. While Edgeworth did not attempt to judge Edgeworth's actions on the basis of rumors and falsifications, he concluded that Von Karma was indeed forging evidence, since the victim's body disappeared from the crime scene, but Von Karma had an autopsy report.

After that, his trial lasted for an entire year, due to Von Karma's manipulations. However, Von Karma eventually won the case, due to Jeff Master giving up Von Karma's manipulations, being found guilty of a crime he did not commit. However, Edgeworth was able to prove that Von Karma forged the autopsy report and that Master's confession was forced. That the case would be suspended, due to the suspect Dane Gustavia having fled his parents, in fact Von Karma did not know that the autopsy was false and Debaste used him as a scapegoat to distrust himself.

The DL-6 Incident[]

While in the elevator with Yanni Yogi, Gregory, and their son Miles Edgeworth. After losing his perfect record, it affected Von Karma a lot and affected him, and when an earthquake affected the elevator, Yogi soon drew his to save oxygen, thereby taking advantage of the opportunity when it was all dark, Von Karma took the gun of Yogi and shot Gregory killing him and taking revenge on him for making him lose his perfect record.

Training Miles Edgeworth[]

After that, Von Karma adopted Miles Edgeworth as a son and tought him everything abou prosecution, and Miles became a prosecutor, and the same thing with Franziska. Years later Von Karma soon planned his revenge plan, he then contacted Yogi in a letter, and giving him instructions on how to make his revenge plan happen against Robert Hammond and Miles Edgeworth, which Yogi sustained as his downfall. Then Yogi contacted Robert and Miles to go the lake at different times. Then when Robert was with Miles at the lake, Yogi shot Robert and killed him. Then Yogi and he used the boat with Miles, and Yogi shot the lake just to get the attention of anyone who saw it, and leaving the gun behind. After that Miles was changed with murder, and Von Karma assigned himself to the case, to make sure that nothing would go wrong with his plan and to see Miles ruined by himself.

Von Karma's defeat[]

At the trial, Phoenix stood in defense of Miles and acquitted him only so that he confesses what happened about Gregory's murder. And reminding him of the evidence of Two shots that were fired, Phoenix was convinced that Miles was innocent and that he had something more. Although Von Karma stole most of the evidence, he was unable to steal Gregory's recovered bullet. At the final judgment, Wright soon realized that Von Karma had the bullet in his shoulder, so he used a metal detector to prove it. Von Karma tried to defend himself in another way, but when Phoenix revealed the other bullet and obtained the consent to remove Von Karma's bullet, then Von Karma realized that it was over and let out the screams that had happened 15 years ago. Von Karma then began to hit his own head repeatedly, and is arrested and dies a while later.

Personality[]

Von Karma was considered as the ''demon presecutor'', and was obsessed with protecting his verdict and his records of perfect victories, he is also a perfectionist who seeks victory in all his cases and will always seek victory in his cases and will always seek victory in his court. Whether guilty or innocent defendants, he will always do anything just to have his perfect record. In addition, he acts in an extremely rude and eccentric way, he also intimidates others to accept his words. Also seen, perfectionism is his weakness, since he cannot bear to lose. Having an extremely arrogant, narcissistic personality and with a superity complex compared to the others around him, he also proved to be very manipulative, manipulating Yogi and forging false evidence to prevent losing.
