MandelaTECH, also known as MandelaTECH 2000, are major antagonists in the 2021 analog horror webseries The Mandela Catalogue, appearing as the overarching antagonists of Act 1 and the secondary antagonists of Act 2.
MandelaTECH started out in the 80s as a regular tech shop located in the titular Mandela County, that was until the manager, Dave Lee, linked up with a man who went by the name of O'Brien in the early 2000s. Without Dave's knowledge, O'Brien would slowly but surely twist the purpose of the company: going from a tech shop to a means of helping the Alternates in their invasion.
Following Dave's death in the hands of O'Brien, who revealed himself to be a mere disguise for Satan, the company went out of business and it's products were sold at a lower price than ever before, thus spreading the vulnerable technology across the entire county and, presumably, surrounding counties.

Background[]
Little is known about MandelaTECH's history prior to the beginning to the series, it is however known that it was established in 1981, around the first registered Alternate invasion that the audience has knowledge of, by an unknown individual. Whether MandelaTECH's opening had a direct effect in the invasion is currently unknown, as the USDTP's Mirror and Television Destruction Order wasn't given out until 1992, a decade later.
It's likely that MandelaTECH gained the trust of Mandela citizens around this time, as well as Dave Lee, it's future manager, getting hired.
Effect on future Alternate invasions[]
Around September 1992, televisions in Mandela County and surrounding counties had been hijacked by The Intruder as a means to manipulate and kidnap children. The hijacked televisions obviously included those distributed by MandelaTECH themselves, making them partially and indirectly responsible for some of the kidnappings.
As a result of that fateful night, the USDTP quickly reacted by issuing an order to destroy every device that could possibly showcase frightening imagery, especially analog television and mirrors, or else these would be conficasted by the department themselves. MandelaTECH, for some reason, was allowed to keep what was allegedly the only analog television left in all of Wisconsin, and quickly turned it into an attraction for tourists.
Following the issuing of the order, they would remain somewhat financially estable by distributing several other screen-based devices, including GPSes, computers, and laptops. It's implied that Dave Lee, now the manager of the company, met and was consequently manipulated by O'Brien around the 2000s.
Alternate Takeover[]
O'Brien's manipulation of Dave Lee would be slow but effective. Dave was succesfully manipulated into creating the "Face Studio" saga, a series of interactive photo editors that allowed the user to distort their faces in pictures. Unbeknownst to Dave, the registering process, which consisted of the user inserting their personal data and pictures of their face, was made to easen the process of an Alternate assimilation.
The products that MandelaTECH sells have also been shown to be vulnerable to the Intruder's interference, thus being unreliable and deadly in some cases. It's likely that, in this ocassion, this is no accident and that O'Brien's manipulation is directly responsible for this.

- Satan/"O'Brien" - The real mastermind behind the MandelaTECH conspiracy: Satan himself. By assuming the fake identity of O'Brien, he managed not only to fool Dave Lee, but also twist the purpose of his company into something even more sinister to accomplish his goal of a full-on Alternate invasion. Satan, alongside his creations, would run MandelaTECH behind the scenes.
- The Intruder - Satan's right hand in the conspiracy. While Satan does the manipulating, it's implied that Intruder does the killing; this is because several of the products sold by MandelaTECH are susceptible to his abilities, thus rendering everyone who owns them vulnerable to his attacks. It's currently unknown whether Intruder also plays a bigger role in the conspiracy or if he's just the enforcer.
- "GENESIS APOCRYPHON" (implied) - Genesis Apocryphon is the owner of an enigmatic YouTube channel with implied ties to MandelaTECH and the Alternates, thus making them a likely candidate to be part of the conspiracy. Genesis seems to limit themselves to uploading corrupted VHS tapes of old Christian cartoons to YouTube, in what's implied to be an attempt to spread the word about "the True Savior."
- The Faceless Alternate - A Flawed Assimilator who has somehow gained a spot in the conspiracy. Little is known about them, other than they appeared in the hijacking of the news report of Dave's death. This particular hijacking also showed the link to the Genesis Apocryphon YouTube channel, potentially setting up a connection between the two.

- David "Dave" Lee - The highest ranking known human in the organization, the company representative and manager of MandelaTECH. He became an unwitting pawn to Satan sometime in the early 2000s, thus becoming his "prophet"[1] and indirectly responsible for the disaster that would ensue. He was killed by Satan after he had outlived his usefulness.
- Evelin Miller - The second known human to work in the organization and Adam Murray's ex-girlfriend. She doesn't display any connection or knowledge to the conspiracy. She was fired by Dave Lee during a mental crisis.
Trivia[]
- MandelaTECH was introduced as a gag company alongside it's manager, Dave Lee, for the Makeship Plushie announcements. They were, however, later introduced into canon in Volume 333.
- Their technology has been directly responsible for the death and downfall of many of the characters seen throughout the series.
- The GPSes that they sell are the exact same model as the one used by the Intruder to afflict M.A.D onto Jonah Marshall in Volume 2.
- Adam Murray states in Volume 4 that, sometimes, his laptop controls itself and "messes with his mind." It's heavily implied that the laptop came from MandelaTECH.
- Although currently unconfirmed, it's likely that Lynn Murray's TV was bought from MandelaTECH given how we've never seen any other local tech store in Mandela.
- Face Studio 2 is heavily implied to have shown Thatcher Davis footage of his own bodycam during the night Ruth Weaver died.
