Linda Cortez was the main antagonist of the episode Trapped of CSI: NY.
History[]
Cortez was Hunter Hudson's favorite employee, with whom he got along and she was going to earn a great inheritance in Hudson's death. It was also revealed that Linda was a smoker and that she visited Hunter's therapist, Dr. Lyle Penn, to help her kick the habit. Penn also used hypnosis in his methods both in the case of Hunter, and Linda, but however according to the episode, the reason Linda did the sessions was not because of her smoking, but to learn about hypnotic methods.
Tired of Hunter's controlling behavior, she conspired along with Jerry Gordon, who had built the panic room, on the same day Linda used her hypnotic skills on Hunter and maed him try to kill himself with a knife, but when Hunter started to hesitate, Jerry appeared and cut Hunter's throat with a knife.
Linda would be unmasked after interviewing Don Flack, and then with Stella Bonasera where, Linda had to be half naked to find blood on her clothes or some evidence. But she would soon be unmasked and arrested along with her accomplice Jerry, when Danny Masser was locked in the panic room, and Jerry tried to kill him, but not before he was arrested by the CSI police and arrested along with Linda.
