Liam Donovan is an antagonist from british soap opera Hollyoaks. First played by Maxim Baldry from March 2016 and April 2017, Liam wasn't seen as antagonist until Hollyoaks recasted the character well over year after Baldry's exit. Actor Jude Monk McGowan took over the from from August 2018 and March 2020. Jude's Liam would become involved in many organised crimes briefly along with his father Glenn Donovan.
Liams storylines include a relationship with Eva Falco, a strain relationship with his sister Grace Black, killing Jay Johnson and feuds with Sylver McQueen and Warren Fox, and a breif relationship with James Nightingale.
History[]
Liam was ladies man with a charm at first in his first stint there wasn't anything that villainy about Liam although after Grace killed Eva, Liam did kidnap Esther and demand 50,000 pounds in cash where he would flee to Spain afterwards.
A year later Liam is tracked down by Courtney Campbell whom Liam had a child with, its revealed that Liam has been living his best life in Alicante and kept in touch with his father Glenn. Liam is next seen saving Glenn from their gangster contact Jay Johnson who Liam shoots dead to prevent Jay from killing Glenn. Glenn is later murdered by Breda McQueen which devestates Liam.
Liam would later enter into an affair with Mercedes McQueen and begins to fall in love with her however Mercedes is with Sylver McQueen who Liam often clashes with during their affair Mercedes and Liam hit and run Grace and cover it up and pin it on Harry Thompson, by November 2019 Mercedes is shot after racking up many enimies, Liam is a suspect although its revealed that the shooters where Grace and James, James would breifly enter into a sexual relationship with Liam.
In January 2020 after the death of his brother, Liam begins to blame Maxine and begins to target her from putting up her rent and pimping her out, Liam continues to manipulate and bully Maxine, by March 2020, Liam would make an enemy out of Warren Fox who confronts Liam after Liam attacked The Dog pub with Mercedes in charge, Warren scares Liam into backing off but Liam would fight back by setting up Warren by getting Warren to beat him up, although James manages to see the texts sent from a p* hone Liam used goading Warren. Liam then hires some heavies to beat Warren up. Liam then organises a dinner part at The Dog and invites, Grace, Mercedes, Maxine, Sylver and John Paul although the latter two were kidnapped and tied up by Liam, Joel Dexter manages to alert Warren who breaks in and tackles Liam to the floor and beats up Liam, Liam awakens and grabs Mercedes but is pushed down a flight of stairs by Grace which kills him. The police then take Liam's body and Mercedes lies to the police that she killed Liam in self defence which clears Grace.
