
Leon Tate is the secundary antagonist of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Rooftop". He is a sociopathic serial rapist who is wrongly suspected of the murders of several teenage girls.
He is portrayed by Dorian Messick.
History[]
A child, Tate tortured and killed animals, and was diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder, also known as sociopathy. As a teenager, he was arrested and imprisoned for sexually abusing adolescent girls. Tate contracted HIV while in prison.
Soon after he was released, he is arrested by detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler for attempted statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl, who does not know that Tate is HIV-positive. However, he is released for lack of evidence.
Nonetheless, Benson and Stabler suspect that he is the perpetrator of several murders of teenage girls in his neighborhood. While investigating him, however, they find that he had died of a heroin overdose - before they latest murder, meaning he could not have committed any of them. The detectives eventually find and apprehend the real killer, Malik Harris.
