Kovu is a character in The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. He is the second son and youngest child of Zira, Scar's son and their, Nuka and Vitani's younger brother, Simba and Nala's son-in-law and Kiara's best friend and later husband. He served as the tritagonist in The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride and a supporting character in the 2015 TV Series The Lion Guard.
He was voiced by Ryan O'Donohue as a cub and by Jason Marsden as an adult. Though Marsden did eventually reprise his role but as a cub in The Lion Guard.
The Lion King 2 is based on Romeo and Juliet. And since this is referenced to the tale, Kiara and Kovu are based on the said characters, with Kovu based on Romeo.
Appearance[]
Kovu has emerald green eyes, and his fur is brown maroon As a cub he has had a dark brown tuft of hair on his head. As an adult, his tuft grew into a mane which stops at the top of his chest.
Trivia[]
- Though he is categorized as pure good, he does not quite start this way at first. However, he and Scar ultimately turn out not to be so similar. Kovu decides he doesn’t want Simba to die, and it was not his fault that Nuka died, regardless of whether he was his brother or not. Both Zira and Nuka himself were responsible.
