~ Kitten while being arrested. |
Kitten is a villain in the Teen Titans animated series. She appeared as the secondary antagonist in the episode "Date with Destiny". She is the daughter of Killer Moth, and the girlfriend of the mutant thief Fang.
She was voiced by Tara Strong, who also played Ember McLain in Danny Phantom.
Personality[]
Spoiled, bossy, and bratty, Kitten is perhaps the only person her father ever knuckles under. Kitty is the typical spoiled teenage girl; all she wants is to be adored and lavished with attention. She will do anything to be better than everyone else, including making them jealous. She succeeded in that goal by bringing Robin to her Junior Prom. Kitty is also very acquisitive and materialistic, finding Fang's array of jewelry a true sign of his love for her. She is also a sore loser eager for revenge on any who have 'wronged' her.
Biography[]
After her brief breakup with Fang, she commanded her father to force Robin to go on a date with Kitten. Robin extremely reluctantly agreed. This makes Starfire very jealous and she accompanied him by exploiting his prior orders to the other Titans to learn about the connection between Kitten and Killer Moth, arguing that she might be a monster. Robin, repulsed by Kitten's appearance, and sympathizing with Starfire, allowed her to stay. Kitten just did this just to make Fang jealous and win him back. After Robin broke up with Kitten, she threatened to unleash Killer Moth's minions and tried to kiss Robin. At this point Fang arrived and engaged Robin in a fist fight. Kitten proceeded to assume the two were fighting over her, and when Starfire informed her otherwise, Kitten proceeded to attack her. Kitten surprisingly had the upper hand as she managed to pin Starfire down on the table. The fight became very one sided, as Starfire proceeded to glow her eyes and began roaring like a tiger, scaring Kitten profusely and throwing Kitten across the table with utter ease. Starfire leapt at Kitten to permanently restrain her, as she still had the detonator on her hand, but Kitten dumped Starfire in the punch bowl. Starfire immediately retaliated by judo throwing her into the cake, ruining her dress in the process. Enraged, she unleashed the insect minions, but Cyborg, Raven and Beast Boy prevented them from escaping. Starfire knocked the device out of Kitten's hand, and Robin smashed it, saying, "Consider yourself dumped.", thus defeating Kitten, and the insect minion turned into larvae. Kitten was then arrested along with her father and her boyfriend, Fang, saying that she will get revenge on Robin and Starfire.
In the episode, "Calling All Titans", Kitten took her revenge against Starfire, snatching her communicator and telling Robin it's all over for him before she whipped Starfire and sent her moths after her. She wasn't seen in the final battle: she was presumably sent back home failed to take revenge on Starfire and steal away Robin.
Powers and Abilities[]
Kitten has no superpowers, but she does have access to her father's inventions (such as a remote that summons his mutated moths) and uses them to great effect to obtain what she wants. She may have at least some fighting skills, since she was able to very briefly hold her own against an enraged Starfire in hand-to-hand combat and managed to pin her down on the table gaining the dominant position. She can also wield a plasma whip.

Trivia[]
- There are multiple species of moths called "kitten moths" due to the soft fluff on their bodies, such as the Alder Kitten, the Sallow Kitten and the Poplar Kitten. Considering that Kitten is the daughter of Killer Moth, it is probable that her father named her after those species.
- It is unknown who her mother is due to the fact that she has never been seen nor mentioned in the animated or comic series. Although, it can be assumed that she got her hair color from her mother.
