John Abruzzi Was Don of the Abruzzi Crime Family in chicago.Abruzzi Was convicted for at least 2 accounts of conspiracy to murder but was probably involved in more.Abruzzi Ordered a hit on Otto Fibonacci for testifying against him.Abruzzi ran prison industry(PI) being respected and feared by most other cons in Fox river.he enjoyed a certain extent of freedom especially from head C.O Brad Bellick Who was on his payroll.When new prisoner Michael Scofield arrived he told Abruzzi he knew where Fibonacci was.Abruzzi later received a visit from Associate Philly Falzone who threatened Abruzzi,s children of he didn,t find Fibonacci soon.after this Abruzzi cut off one of Michael,s toes in a failed attempt to extract the information.Abruzzi ostensibly allied With T-Bag to get revenge on Michael but then betrayed T-Bag to side with him.Abruzzi Was involved in Michael,s plan to escape prison.he expressed annoyance over the inclusion of Michael,s Cellmate Fernando Sucre and his brother Lincoln Borrows but was told he,d have to deal with it.When T-Bag blackmailed his way into the escape both Michael and Abruzzi Were disgusted due to their mutual hatred for sexual predators.Falzone stopped bribing Bellick Causing Abruzzi to lose control of PI and Gus Fiorello to take over.However Michael Was able to feed Falzone misinformation getting him arrested and Abruzzi Would take Fiorello,s eye out after regaining control.Abruzzi Would also threaten Michael,s friend Veronica Donovan to ensure he gave up FibonacciWhen Michael realised too many people were involved in the escape Abruzzi Wanted to get rid of T-Bag but he revealed that he had told his cousin James about the escape as an insurance policy.Abruzzi then ordered his guy on the outisde,Maggio to kidnap James.the kidnapping Went badly When James used his son as a shield causing Maggio To kill them both.Abruzzi Was deeply hunted by the role he played in the death of a child and turned to religion as an outlet for his guilt.despite his remorse Abruzzi ordered his men to beat T-Bag and tried intimidating him into backing out of the escape.When T-Bag agreed Abruzzi chose to spare his life.this proved to be a mistake as T-Bag immediately cut his throat.Abruzzi later returned to the prison apparently harbouring no ill will towards T-Bag who once again tried killing him only to be stopped by C-note.after the escape T-Bag had handcuffed himself to Michael to ensure his survival but Abruzzi resolved this by cutting off T-Bag,s hand.When Abruzzi and the other prisoners fled he chose to take the daughter of a hunter hostage allowing him to escape.When Abruzzi met his family he was more than happy to forget about Fibonacci but after being told of his location he went to exact his vengeance however this turned out to be a trap set by FBI Agent Alex Mahone.Abruzzi Was then gunned down by Mahone,s men.
