Iron-Masked Maurader

TheIron-Masked Marauder is the main antagonist of the 2001 film Pokémon 4Ever. He is an Elite Officer of Team Rocket who plotted in an intention to capture and use Celebi's powers to kill Giovanni and take over the world by using Pokémon that he captures with his Dark Balls.

Pokémon 4Ever[]

The Iron-Masked Marauder appears for the first time convincing a Pokémon Hunter to shows the legendary Pokémon Celebi, then when the hunter refuses to tell where the legendary Pokémon is, he then picks up Tyranitar with the dark ball and the hunter decides to say where he encountered Celebi soon after the Marauder orders Tyranitar to destroy the hunter's camp.

The Marauder appears again with Team Rocket, Jessie, James and Meowth. They decide to go with the Marauder out of fear of him, soon after the Marauder meets Ash and his friends. He tells Ash to give him Celebi, to which Ash refuses. Soon after they have a confrontation in which the Marauder defeats Ash and captures Celebi with an electrocution, putting Celebi in the dark balls, he steps on Ash's hands to sadistically make him faint.

The Marauder is surrounded by the furious Pokémon of the forest, he then decides to use his powers and orders Celebi to kill the children, but they are saved by the Suicune, he then reveals his true intentions to Jessie his plans to use Celebi to usurp Giovanni as head of Team Rocket and conquer the world for himself.

Celebi is cured, the Marauder gets Celebi and leaves, but Ash graps on the Marauder's leg, Ash then sends Pikachu to attack the Marauder, while they all fall into the forest, the Celebi saves Ash, then the Marauder tries to take out some Pokémon plus it has no more right after he is defeated.

Characteristics[]

The Iron-Masked Marauder is skilled at hand-to-hand combat but does not have good balance. His primary combat relies on Pokémon that are brainwashed by his Dark Balls. Once caught, The Pokémon are extremely loyal to him and attack without regards to previous friendships and loyalties. It is not known how he got them, but it is possible that he invented them.

The Iron-Masked Marauder is one of the first example of a most evil villain wholly without redeeming qualities within the Pokémon franchise- he was downright cruel, ruthless, cunning, treacherous, selfish, reckless and generally uncaring of whomever he hurt. He was a depraved and cold-hearted psychopath by nature, gleefully tortured and willingly abused both humans and Pokémon in his scheme to take over the world, even planning to overthrow his boss Giovanni. Even Jessie, James and Meowth were horrified by his sadistic and sociopathic methods. He was the first of the kind of the series- he would later be followed by similar villains such as J and Grings Kodai, who drew similarities from the Marauder from their occupations and technology used.
