Herod the Great, was a king of the Bible. He was very contradictory he was a cruel, barbaric, violent, bloodthirsty and paranoid king. He murdered his loyal wife and Princess Mariamme and the two children he had with her, and strangling them with a silk cord. He stayed in Palestine from the first century because of problems with the Romans, he built palaces, cities, and also the fortresses that still impressed, but that did not work. At the time of Jesus's birth, he soon ordered the massacre of the innocent in Bethlehem as Matthew himself narrates, and also given to the numbers of people who died because of his atrocities made him the only one to make him fear.
