Your sentimonster, Guiltrip, is perfect. All who have broken promises and are ruining your friend's life will take the guilt trip of a lifetime.
~ Shadow Moth explaining Guiltrip's purpose to Reflekta.

Guiltrip is a minor antagonist in the French superhero cartoon series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir, serving as the titular main antagonist of the episode "Guiltrip". It is a Sentimonster created by Shadow Moth to serve the Akumatized villain Reflekta.

Appearance[]

Guiltrip's body is flat and circular, with a diameter roughly the size of the door of a bathroom stall. Its body is brilliant crimson and it has four black triangular appendages along the outer border of the circle.

History[]

When Shadow Moth akumatizes Juleka Couffaine into Reflekta due to her feeling guilty that she made all her classmates feel guilty. It all started when Juleka by accident told the class how Rose had been very sick when she was young and the sickness can return at any time. Rose had made Juleka promise never to tell anyone. Everyone promised not to tell Rose but the next day everyone acted differently around Rose. Therefore Rose finds out how Juleka has told her secret to everybody. Juleka feels guilty but Rose stops her by telling her that she should not have put such a burden on her. Almost everybody panics in the science class, where they are learning about diseases, when Rose sneezes. Then Juleka feels guilty again and runs off to the bathroom. Shadow Moth feels her negative emotions and sends an akuma and an amok to her. Juleka turns into Reflekta and the amok goes into her phone. Reflekta willingly lets go of her control over the Sentimoster and throws her phone in the trash. She is sucked into a pocket dimension. where she is overwhelmed by guilt. She becomes covered by bubbles that cling to her.

Juleka's classmates run to save her but are also sucked into the pocket dimension. Cat Noir and Ladybug having transformed are the last ones entering the pocket dimension. They see how all their classmates have been overwhelmed by guilt and turn into Reflekta clones by the bubbles. They also see how Rose with her positive attitude repeals the bubbles. Ladybug gives Rose the Pig Miraculous. Rose and Daizzi are very glad to meet each other, and Rose transforms into Pigella, a pig-themed superhero. She helps so Cat Noir can use his Cataclysm and Ladybug can capture the akuma. This makes Reflekta turn into Juleka again.

The four leave the pocket dimension followed by the angry Reflekta clones. It is hard but luckily Ladybug has her Lucky Charm, which is an ice axe. In the bathroom they quickly find Juleka's phone, destroy it and capture the amok. Ladybug then turns everything back to normal.

Powers and Abilities[]

Guiltrip can create a strong vacuum vortex from its mouth that sucks nearby people into a pocket dimension inside its body. Once someone is trapped inside it, they are infected with a strong sense of guilt over their past and current regrets and failings.

It also produces bubbles from valves on the walls on the pocket dimension that cling to the trapped victims, attracted to their feelings of guilt, and once a victim is completely covered in bubbles, they turn into a copy of Reflekta, as well as making them seek to keep other people trapped in the guilty void. They even have the same powers as the original Reflekta.

The bubbles can be repelled by positive thoughts and emotions as this can only work if a person is thinking or feeling guilty.

Trivia[]

  • This is the second sentimonster to be created for Reflekta, with the first one being Reflekdoll from the episode with the same name.
  • This is the fourth sentimonster to act on its own, following the Lollipop Sentimonster, the Dormant Sentimonster and Ladybug Sentimonster. This happens because Reflekta drops her phone, the object where the amok is, in the garbage, losing control over her sentimonster.
  • Guiltrip's bubbles are similar to akumas in that they are attracted to negative emotions, repelled by positive ones, and turn those they attach to into villains.
