Grant Mitchell is a major protagonist and anti-hero of the British soap opera EastEnders.

Grant was one half of the famous duo 'The Mitchell' brothers with Grant being the younger brother of Phil Mitchell. Grant like his brother Phil was seen as a local Jack the lad who knew how to be handy with his fists.

A year into his stint, Grant showed a darker side to him, he was much more temperamental and volatile. Grant wasn't very nice to those who considered to love. Two of Grant's wives in both Sharon Watts and Tiffany Raymond eventually left Grant over his poor treatment of them.

Like his older brother Phil, Grant was also a criminal often getting involved in dodge but more petty crimes in the 1990s, Grant had run ins with various gangsters such as Jason Cox, Jimmy Coogan, Dougie Briggs and Johnny Allen.

Grant also served as a parachute regiment and fought in the forklands war and has killed while in service. It's strongly believed that this could be the reason that Grant had his impulsive and aggressive personality.

Grant was played by British actor turned journalist, Ross Kemp.

History[]

Grant arrived in Albert Square along with his brother Phil in February 1990. Grant went onto to begin a relationship with Sharon Watts however Grant would show his controlling side and later aggressive side towards Sharon. The first example of this was when Grant beat up pub landlord Eddie Royle to a pulp, however by 1994 Sharon cheated in Grant with Phil after years of putting up with Grant's ill-fated temper.

Grant didn't change much by the time he got with Tiffany Raymond despite the pair marrying, Grant still went onto treat her poorly and even got physical with Tiffany, their relationship ended tragically when Tiffany was accidentally tragically killed by Frank Butcher as Grant tried to take their daughter Courtney away from Tiffany.

Away from relationships. Grant was often involved in crimes and it often led to Phil bailing him out, a perfect example of this is when Grant got into debt with a gangster named Jason Cox. This trouble led to Grant fleeing the country when he couldn't pay Jason leading Phil to sort his mess out and find a way to pay Jason off so Grant can return home.

When Grant returned by October 2005, he did seem more settled and even settled Phil from time to time. Grant managed to stop Phil twice from killing Johnny Allen as the pair did their best to bring Johnny down at the nearly cost of their lives but were saved last minute.

Grant did make another return in 2016 and 2022 but the returns were both short and didn't see Grant as any sort of bad boy whatsoever.
