“ | And then I wanted there to be a sixth night... that wasn't an actual night, it was just kinda a thing where you look in a mirror and realize that you have been Flumpty this whole game. The whole thing took place in your consciousness, Golden Flumpty is your alter-ego and you have been tempted to kill all these innocent people because you thought it was a fun game. | „ |
~ Jonochrome about what would have been the finale of the cancelled One Week at Flumpty's. |
Summary[]
He is a cracked golden egg with glowing eyes, which is the "golden" version of Flumpty. His origin is unknown, as well as the exact concept of who he is, but in the cancelled One Week at Flumpty's Jonochrome planned to reveal him as the main antagonist of the entire game and Flumpty's alter ego.. Most often he appears in the middle of the night, or at the end, which is why he is considered an antagonist of the "end of the game".
Physical appearance[]
Golden Flumpty appears to be an egg similar to Flumpty Bumpty, except possibly rotten, due to the fact his shell is full of cracks and he is yellow. He appears to have crooked teeth with fangs next to his top front teeth, and has a hole that goes from the bottom of his eyes to the top of his mouth, a cracked head at the top right of his shell and has a rounded nose. As his name suggests, he is based off of Golden Freddy in how he looks and behaves. Though his name is Golden Flumpty, he is not actually golden, though his eyes shine with golden lens flares.
Behavior[]
One Night at Flumpty's[]
Golden Flumpty acts like a hallucination that will activate late in the night. He will appear randomly, and if he appears, pulling up the monitor is the only way to get rid of him. Failing to do so will result in a jumpscare, followed by the player's demise. On hard boiled mode, he becomes active at 3 AM.
One Night at Flumpty's 2[]
Golden Flumpty will start randomly appearing in The Office around 4 AM. If The Player sees him, then The Player must either raise the Laptop or turn off the lights. Otherwise, Golden Flumpty will attack the player, resulting in a Game Over Easy. When he is in The Office, the Exposure Meter does not go up, as he is a hallucination. On Hard Boiled Mode Golden Flumpty becomes active at 3 AM.
One Week at Flumpty's[]
In the cutscene of the unlockable sixth night, Golden Flumpty would have been revealed as the true main antagonist of the whole series. He would have been the sole threat of the night.
One Night at Flumpty's 3[]
Unlike in the previous games, Golden Flumpty can appear on any camera. When the player drops the monitor while Golden Flumpty is visible on the camera feed, he will jumpscare the player, much like the Phantoms from FNAF 3. Also, unlike the previous games, you do not die from Golden Flumpty; he instead takes a certain amount from your temperature meter, making you exposed to freezing and at the mercy of the other antagonists.
Trivia[]
One Night at Flumpty's[]
- He is a clear reference to Golden Freddy from Five Nights at Freddy's, as well as golden eggs from fairy tales, like Jack and the Beanstalk.
- His jumpscare is similar to Golden Freddy's jumpscare in Five Nights at Freddy's 2.
- If Grunkfuss The Clown is in The Office, when his jumpscare occurs, Golden Flumpty will get rid of Grunkfuss, as he might be an overlay, like the HUD, and Golden Flumpty's jumpscare removes the HUD and other overlays.
- According to Jonathan, his design was accidentally based of a boss from Persona 4. While he does not state which boss this is, it is theorized to be Shadow Teddie, as they both have missing skin showing only two golden eyes.
- Golden Flumpty's appearance can cause a disadvantage for the player, as the only way to get rid of him is to bring up and lower the monitor. Because of this, this can help Grunkfuss move one stage forward to entering the office and killing the player, if not directly kill them afterwards.
One Night at Flumpty's 2[]
- When he is in the office in the first game, he appears to be on his knees. However, in the second game, he seems to be standing up.
- His jumpscare resembles Golden Freddy in the first Five Nights at Freddy's game. This is a bit of a backwards effect, as in the first game, he had a jumpscare resembling Golden Freddy's from the second game, whereas in this game, his jumpscare resembles Golden Freddy's from the first game.
One Night at Flumpty's 3[]
- When the player is already at a low temperature, Golden Flumpty won't reduce as much, which makes it impossible for Golden Flumpty to directly freeze the player.
- Golden Flumpty is the only enemy in Normal Night that cannot directly kill the player.
- His mechanic is similar to the Phantom Animatronics in "Five Night at Freddy's 3", where they don't kill you but distract you and disable the ventilation system.
- 2 Flumpty clones in the Flumpty Night also can't directly kill the player ("Virtual Boy Flumpty" can only disable the doors, and "Flumpty.exe" can only disable the cameras).
- He's arguably the most dangerous antagonist in Hard Boiled Mode just from the fact that if you're jumped by him while the Redman is in your furnace, it's an automatic game over.
- This is the first time that Golden Flumpty has an animated jumpscare that isn't composed of one frame zooming in or shaking.
- His actions are not directly replicated in the Flumpty Night, but Shadow Flumpty behaves similar to him.
