Figaro

Figaro is a tuxedo cat who first appeared as a character in the 1940 Disney film Pinocchio. Since Walt Disney loved Figaro so much and was even Walt's favorite Pinocchio character, he later appeared in several Disney cartoon shorts and even became a character in the Mickey Mouse universe. He was originally one of Geppetto's two pets (the other being a fish named Cleo) in Pinocchio, but ever since he appeared in more Disney media, he became Minnie Mouse's pet. However, in the cartoon short Figaro and Cleo, both him and Cleo were pets of the stereotypical and controversial character Mammy Two Shoes.

His vocal sound effects were originally provided by the late Clarence "Ducky" Nash, who was the original voice actor of Donald Duck, but nowadays his vocal sound effects are provided by Frank Welker.

Figaro has black and white fur and pink ears.

Personality[]

Figaro is mischievous and spoiled, but still an adorable and nice kitten that has affection for his owners (Geppetto, Minnie and Mammy Two Shoes). He also gets angry very easily as he dislikes many things such as dogs, waiting, having a bath, wearing a sweater (which was originally given to Pluto by Minnie before it shrunk by water), anyone making a fool of him, kissing Cleo, Frankie the Canary's singing and initially Pinocchio himself, though Figaro started to love the latter once he came to life and started being nice to him. In fact, Figaro loved Pinocchio so much that he was crying when he supposedly died, and once the wooden puppet was revived, he willingly gave Cleo a kiss even though he usually hates kissing her.

Since Figaro appeared in the cartoon shorts focusing on Pluto and even had his own cartoon shorts, he became much more antagonistic, naughty, malicious and cat-like and even became Pluto's rival as he would often torment and bully Pluto and the two would often fight each other for several reasons (particularly their love for Minnie) when nobody is looking. Figaro even tried to eat Cleo in Figaro and Cleo (despite knowing it's wrong since that was the reason why he initially chose not to) and later tried to eat Frankie in Figaro and Frankie and he has showed sadism in both cases as he was smiling evilly while trying to eat them. He is also manipulative, as shown in First Aiders when he promised Minnie that he would stay out of trouble, and after she left to get more bandages, Figaro immediately starts to antagonize Pluto.

However, despite his antagonism, he later makes up with Pluto, Cleo and Frankie (even though he still hates listening to the latter's singing), as soon as Minnie and Mammy Two Shoes scold him for the trouble he caused. He even saved Frankie from Butch the Bulldog after his angel of goodness finally convinced him to do so (despite initially refusing to save the canary), showing that he has his heroic moments.

In addition, his antagonism has later been toned down in recent years and both him and Pluto get along with each other.
