Donnie Bidwell

Donnie Bidwell is the main antagonist of the episode Carbon Copy, in season eight of Criminal Minds. He was a John Curtis pawn who, like him, tried to get revenge on BAU for running his life.

He was portrayed by Scott Grimes.

History[]

Background[]

Very little about Bidwell's life is revealed, other than that he was the prime suspect in a series of murders, and was arrested by Jason Gideon, later when BAU discovered the accused man who was a recluse, named Jack Lee Kemper. However, when Bidwell entered a bar, he was attacked on the head by a man who thought he was he serial killer, who left him with a dry head. Bidwell also owned his own construction company, but after a financial crisis, his company went bankrupt, and his ex-wife took the children and abandoned him. This left him vulnerable due to the influence of John Curtis, who like him, also wanted to take revenge on the BAU, and Bidwell began to copy the Bryan Hughes murders and always aiming at female nurses who resembles his ex-wife.

Donnie soon starts the episode by killing a woman named Shannon Lavin, BAU soon starts investigating and thinking about the beginning that was The Replicator. However, after they realized that the women's deaths appear to be very personal, they as soon as the suspect was killing for revenge, BAU soon realized that all the murders were linked to Kemper's murders. That brought them to Donnie Bidwell. After the arrival of the BAU to arrest him, Bidwell fiercely attacks David Rizzo, Derek Morgan and JJ, but is arrested by them, and he spits on Morgan who irritates him.

After that, David Rossi decides to question him, however, when Bidwell did not act according to the profile of The Replicator, they decide to do it with JJ and Blake but also not to give. Afterwards when everyone leaves, Bidwell soon receives a telephoto from the Replicator that convinces him to commit suicide, which Bidwell agrees with, so all of BAU even recognize Bidwell's tragic end and say that he was vulnerable to the Replicator's manipulation.
