The Deinonychus are the main antagonists in the game, Apex Theropod Deck-Building Game.

History[]

The? Deinonychus first prominent role, is when Apex Theropod Deck-Building Game, the games protagonist, Deinonychus has with a two sentence Ambush power. The first sentence says to reveal two Apex cards in your or Eliminate an Egg or a Hatchling from your hand. That seems clear enough. The second sentence says to take an Affliction for each additional Deinonychus on the Game Trail.

What I am wondering is, if these are one power, or two. In other words, if I reveal two non-Hatchling Apex cards in my hand, does it protect me from the Affliction power? Or does it just protect my Egg/Hatchling in my hand from being eliminated?

I have been playing that I suffer the Afflictions whether I have two non-Hatchlings or not - that all my adults do is protect my Eggs/Hatchlings, not avoid the Afflictions.

Wondering how others play this brutal Boss and its Minions.

Finally beat this boss with Carnotaurus by sacrificing (Eliminating) Skullcrushers to get automatic Affliction draws, but if that last one had not finished him off, I would have lost for sure during the next round (Extinction)

Card[]

I play them the same way as you have been.
The adults protect the eggs and young, but you take injuries from the fight. If you have no adults strong enough, the Minion kills the Egg or Hatchling and you still take injuries because your "tribe" tried to stop them, but weren't strong enough. I played this same matchup last night. I played it as both ambush effects take effect.

Never had more than 2 in the game trail at once. Took out the boss during round 8. Snake Eater was an interesting card.
