~ Crimson vowing revenge against King Julien for abandoning her at the wedding.

„
~ Crimson's nickname for King Julien.
Crimson is a recurring antagonist in All Hail King Julien. She is one of the secondary antagonists (alongside Karl) in Season 2 and Season 3, and the supporting antagonist in All Hail King Julien: Exiled and Season 5, before she fully redeems herself at the end of the series. She is Clover's twin sister, and King Julien's ex-fiancé. She was also Uncle King Julien's right-hand lemur during the events of Season 2 and Season 3, up until she left him at the end of Season 3. She was also the former girlfriend of Sage Moondancer. Crimson was also the Queen of Siren Island during the events of All Hail King Julien: Exiled.
She is voiced by India de Beaufort, who also voiced her twin sister, Clover.
She makes her debut in the episode, "Crimson and Clover". Crimson first came to the kingdom to see Clover. When Crimson meets King Julien, she finds she shares interests with him because of his adventurous side. The two have fun together, while Clover is more suspicious of her intentions. At night, King Julien and Crimson grow closer and have fun with each other. When Crimson returns to her house, she is greeted by her angry sister. Clover asks her to leave, but Crimson says that King Julien invited her to stay as long as she wants. Crimson and King Julien show up on Xixi's show being flirtatious with each other, and decide to get married. While getting ready for the wedding, King Julien finds out that marriage is forever and gets nervous. Clover finds a knife, poison, and a confession note in Crimson's place that can incriminate Crimson for trying to kill King Julien. Crimson explains the knife is for cutting the cake, the bottle labelled poison is actually a cologne for the king, and the note has words of love written on the back. At the wedding, before King Julien and Crimson can wed, King Julien ruins the wedding by saying he is having an affair with his kingdom. After Crimson hears this, she starts crying and runs off. At the end of the episode, Crimson meets with Uncle King Julien and the two create an alliance, as Crimson wants King Julien dead for breaking her heart.
In her next appearance "The Iron Booty", Crimson teams up with Julien's uncle, in his plan to take over a new kingdom. Crimson hires Sage to kill Clover. In Feartopia, Crimson works as Uncle King Julien guard. When King Julien, Maurice, and the other lemurs try to escape, Crimson stops them. Later in the episode, Clover arrives to help the lemurs who are imprisoned, bringing Sage with her. She fights with Crimson, while the two argue about why they are angry with each other. Clover is obviously angry that Crimson attempted to hire someone to kill her own sister. Crimson is angry that Clover "ruined her wedding", and says Clover had always been jealous of her. Clover says she would not have been jealous if Crimson had made time for her. The two apologize to each other, crying and hugging. When the boat leaves to go home to the kingdom, Clover notices Crimson has attached herself to Sage.
In the Season 2 finale, "King Juli-END?", King Julien visited Crimson, who was living near the kingdom. Sage arrived to visit, and she tried to make Julien jealous of her and Sage "being in love". She was shocked at first after hearing that Julien was dying, but had an evil grin on her face when she decided to share the information with Julien's uncle. The two teamed up and Crimson was tasked with ensuring Julien died by feeding him poison. Crimson successfully got inside King Julien's hut, where during the night, she fed him soup doused with poison. During Uncle King Julien's crowning, Crimson was standing next to him, and when King Julien came back in the Mega Gecko to stop the pair, Crimson bounced off a tree and got away, leaving Uncle King Julien.
She makes a minor appearance in the episode "O Captain My Captain Pt. 2". Crimson was in her house drinking tea and reading a book when King Julien ran past her with his pirate crew. In her house, she has a picture of her grandmother, Rose.
In the episode "Jungle Games", Crimson joined Uncle King Julien's team for the games, to beat King Julien's team. She participated in the competitive packing and harpooning event. In competitive packing, she stopped Ted from winning by placing a scorpion underneath him, and in the harpooning event, she made Clover miss the target (though Clover then did the same to her). This ended with her and Clover getting into a fight and being disqualified from the games.
In "Eye of the Clover", we learn a little of Crimson's past. During Clover's flashbacks, Crimson is shown whining about what her grandmother asks of her, and in another flashback she is seen witnessing her grandmother's death. She secretly helps out her sister, Clover, by throwing Julien and Maurice a mix tape to encourage her. At the end of the episode, she explains her reason for helping is because she also wanted revenge for the death of her grandmother.
In All Hail King Julien: Exiled's second episode, "The Most Eggcellent Adventure", Crimson is revealed to be the Queen of Siren Island and plans to feed captured Julien and his friends to the giant tentacle that lives on the island.
In Exiled's third episode, "Iron Ted Weekend", Crimson explains to Julien how she got to Siren Island. While transferring the group to the giant tentacle, Julien trips and Crimson rushes to pick him up, showing unusual concern. During the night, Crimson releases Julien from his cage and offers him the chance to be her mate, to avoid being eaten by the tentacle. After hearing the tentacle growl, Julien accepts. During the feeding, Julien tells Crimson she can't sacrifice his friends without sacrificing him, and jumps onto Maurice and Pancho. Crimson tells Julien to have it his way, and she prepares to commence the feast only for Ted to appear instead of her meal. Crimson watches from behind as Ted beats the lemur ladies and the giant tentacle. After the giant tentacle has been beaten, Crimson offers the group to stay on the island since there is no more threat. While Julien is tempted by the offer, he declines since he has to fight to get his kingdom back.
In the penultimate episode of the series, "The End is Near", Crimson tries to steal Sage from Clover and tries to get Sage to marry her instead of Clover. Both Crimson and Clover try to help out the Mountain Lemurs. Sage finally proposes to Clover instead of Crimson in the end.
In the final episode of the series, "The End is Here", Clover runs into Crimson while stressing about her wedding. Not wanting to deal with her, Clover ask why Crimson is here. Crimson says it wasn't her choice and Grandma Rose appear. Grandma Rose says that despite their differences that they should make amends. Clover says that differences are the only thing her and Crimson have in common and lists how when she trained and study, Crimson played and picked boyfriends like flowers. And when she met someone she cared about Crimson replied that she tried take him from her. Crimson explains that its true that she never had to work hard like Clover and says the reason is that she is jealous of her. Even though Crimson was mom's and dad's favorite, they were always proud of Clover. With no choice, she became a fabulous train wreck. After the talk Crimson ask Rose if she can leave now, but before she can leave. Clover stops her and asks her if she would like to walk her down the aisle. Crimson agrees. When Julien comes inside to tell Ted to stall Clover. He runs into Clover and Crimson. Julien tells Clover to deal with her sister. Clover explains that Crimson is going to walk her down the aisle. When Julien and Crimson are alone, Crimson explains to him that she'd never wanted to hurt him and adds a little seduction to it. Julien doesn't fall for the seduction and walks out, with Crimson saying to herself that she'll get him eventually. Crimson is shown during the wedding and during the wedding reception she is seen dancing with the other lemurs.
Personality[]
Crimson is mischievous, manipulative, selfish, fun-loving, and reckless. She is also very flirtatious, namely to King Julien and then later Sage. She is also prone to holding resentments and is known to put a lot of time and effort into getting revenge. She is also jealous of Clover, despite being favored more by her parents, and tries many times to mess with her own life, such as trying to steal Sage away from her before the wedding. They never really got along even as children, mostly because of their jealousy of each other, which led to major sibling rivalry. Throughout the series, they are seen fighting or arguing many times, and Crimson even tries to hurt (and once, kill) Clover multiple times. But, they do end up making amends towards the end of the show. She cares deeply for Grandma Rose, despite the fact that Grandma Rose favored Clover over Crimson. She helped her sister get revenge on her grandmother’s killer, Wigman Wildebeest.
Crimson does genuinely love King Julien, because of his adventurous side, but it wasn't meant to be, because Julien abandoned her at the altar. She then teams up with Uncle King Julien to get revenge on Julien for leaving her. After the alliance ended in "Eye of the Clover", Crimson goes to a resort and ends up on Siren Island. While queen of Siren Island, Julien appears on her island, and she wants to feed him and his friends to the giant tentacle beast. But, she soon changes her mind and offers Julien a chance to be her mate again, and again after the tentacle beast has been tamed. Towards the end of the show, Crimson apologizes to King Julien, claiming she never wanted to hurt him. It is unknown what became of their relationship in the movies, but since King Julien falls in love with Sonya the Bear in the third film, the relationship between Crimson and King Julien was never meant to be.
Appearence[]
Crimson looks a lot like Clover, but unlike Clover, Crimson has sapphire blue eyes, pink eyelids, and a pink tinge to her orange fur. She has a lighter shade of pink on the inside of her ears, and no dark fur on her back. She also has less of a heart-shaped face, and she has a beauty mark on her left cheek.
Trivia[]
Crimson is the only character with pink eyelids, while many others have brown or black ones.
Crimson is a bit like Uncle King Julien, and they have even teamed up out of mutual resentment for King Julien XIII. However, Crimson is not as cruel as Uncle King, as she helped Clover beat Wigman Wildebeest in Eye of the Clover because of their family bond, whereas Uncle King Julien has no regard for his nephew's life until the end of the series.
Crimson is one of the antagonists of the show who redeems herself in the end.
Crimson is one of the final antagonists of the show, alongside Bone-Fossa. However, unlike Bone-Fossa, Crimson redeems herself before the final episode, while Bone-Fossa remained a villain, thus making Bone-Fossa the true final antagonist.
It is currently unknown what happened to Crimson after the events of All Hail King Julien. She was last seen partying with the other lemurs during the wedding reception when her sister Clover and her brother-in-law Sage leave to rule over the Mountain Lemur Kingdom. She was not seen in the Madagascar films. The only explanation is that Crimson left the kingdom as well to pursue her own life and may have finally gotten over her love for her ex-fiance King Julien XIII.
It is currently unknown if Crimson knew Koto. She could have heard of him from the Mountain Lemurs. Since Koto was killed, they never had the chance to meet each other face to face. However, if they could have met, Koto could have pursued Crimson instead of Clover to make him his Queen and Crimson could have accepted. This could have been Koto's redemption arc if he was still alive and was not killed. But unfortunately, it was not to be.
It is also currently unknown if Crimson knew about Karl, another All Hail King Julien antagonist and one of King Julien's arch-nemeses. It is possible that she never heard of him, but if she did, she could have heard from him from Clover or King Julien. If they would have met, Crimson could have flirted with Karl, but Karl would not show any interest in her, due to his love for his hissing cockroach, Chauncey.
