The Combaticons were a group of Decepticon combiners that could combine into Bruticus, and were major antagonists of Fall of Cybertron. Their members included Onslaught, Brawl, Vortex, Swindle, and Blast Off.

As revealed in The Convanent of Primus, Combaticons were subjects to Shockwave's experimentation with combiner technology.
Exodus[]
The Combaticons were in stasis beneath Crystal City after the experiments showed the Combaticons were unable to control their combined form. After Devastator destroyed the city, Bruticus was put on the battlefield, where he was dismembered by Optimus Prime, Jazz and Sideswipe, who tore off the head (Onslaught). Regardless, they remained active during the war, spying on the Autobots.

Fall of Cybertron[]
The Combaticons took part in the Decepticon assault on the Ark. Onslaught and Brawl hauled Optimus Prime back to headquarters when he was captured by Starscream, and chained him up. As Megatron prepared to execute Optimus, the Combaticons watched Metroplex kill Megatron. The team retreated under Starscream's command.
When the Autobots made off with Shockwave's Energon, the Combaticons were assigned to reclaim it, despite being annoyed at Starscream's leadership. Blast Off, Vortex and Brawl went off to bring down the bridge the transport was to roll across, while Swindle worked to shoot out the wheels. Despite their efforts, the transport became airborne. Swindle grappled his way aboard and was able to destroy the anti-aircraft guns, which had devastated the Decepticons' aerial assault, thanks to Starscream's impatience. Starscream ordered a retreat, but Onslaught ordered the group to combine into Bruticus as a last ditch effort to salvage the operation. Bruticus made it to the control room, but the transport was so damaged, it crashed and half of the Energon was lost. Starscream had the Combaticons jailed for disobeying his orders, even though Onslaught pointed out they saved a mission he screwed up from the get-go.
The Combaticon's were freed after Soundwave resurrected Megatron, who deposed Starscream. Onslaught wanted to go after him, but Megatron let him go. The group accompanied Megatron to where Trypticon's remains were held, and combined into Bruticus to clear a path for their leader. The Combaticons were aboard the Nemesis when it left Cybertron, and took part in the attack on the Ark. The group combined into Bruticus and laid waste to the Autobot forces. However, Jazz and Jetfire managed to throw Bruticus off the ship and cast out into space.
Post FOC Stories[]
After the events of Fall of Cybertron, the Combaticons remained on Cybertron. In Rage of the Dinobots, Blast Off led a Decepticon team in an attack on the troops supporting the remainder of the Autobot evacuation ships. However, he was killed by Grimock. The other Combaticons aided Shockwave in maintaining control of Cybertron, fighting against the Wreckers.
Trivia[]
- Blast Off was killed in Rage of the Dinobots, but it is the others fate is unknown.
- Vortex, Swindle, and Bruticus are playable in the Fall of Cybertron levels Death From Above, The Belly of the Beast, and Combaticons Combine! respectively.
- As well as this, Swindle and Bruticus are playable in the Rise of the Dark Spark levels Hustle, and Gates of Kaon respectively.
