Chloé Bourgeois, formerly known as Queen Bee is the main anti-heroine turned an antagonist in the Disney and Nickelodeon cartoon series Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. She is a former student in Miss Bustier's class at Collège Françoise Dupont, the daughter of André and Audrey Bourgeois, the maternal older half-sister of Zoé Lee, Ladybug's former self-proclaimed biggest fan, and the rival of Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
Throughout the series, she is depicted as a bully responsible for many of Hawk Moth's akumatized victims, but eventually grows more heroic, joining Ladybug and Cat Noir as the heroine Queen Bee. However, after being denied access to the Bee Miraculous and manipulated by Hawk Moth, she loses faith in Ladybug and Cat Noir, becoming a villain in the process until she is ultimately exiled from Paris for her crimes and many abuses of power.
She is voiced by Selah Victor in English dubbed version, and by Marie Chevalot in the original French version of the show.
Personality[]
Chloé is a spoiled, arrogant and superficial girl. She does everything in her power to crush and humiliate the other students, especially Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Chloé believes that she is the most important person in the world and everyone adores her. The reason is because her father is the mayor of Paris and he constantly spoils her to an unhealthy degree by giving her everything she wants and bend the knee on whatever issue she comes to him with instead of actually parent her. She thinks highly of herself and lowly of others, believing she deserves everything and taking pride in her rich lifestyle. If there is something that she wants, like Adrien Agreste's attention or revenge against Marinette, she will do anything, including underhanded actions, to succeed. She steals Marinette's derby hat design in order to humiliate her and impress Adrien and Gabriel Agreste in "Mr. Pigeon", and she threatens Mr. Damocles into punishing Alya Césaire by calling her father in "Lady Wifi" after catching Alya taking photos of the inside of her locker. Her sour attitude comes across openly to whatever and whoever she despises, but she will sometimes pretend to be innocent and emotionally distressed in order to manipulate others. She rarely treats any of her peers respectfully and is even bossy and overbearing to her former best friend Sabrina Raincomprix, claiming to her mother in "Queen Wasp" that she was just using her.
While being callous and careless to anyone but herself, Chloé can be cowardly. She is easily scared of danger often caused by Akumatized villains. Having helped cause some people to be akumatized, Chloé, to her horror and confusion, finds herself their victim for revenge. Despite some of the villains calling her out for her nasty behaviour, Chloé disagrees with them, believing she is good. She remains awful most of the time, but occasionally, she shows a bit more kindness, sometimes expressing happiness when Ladybug is saving her or expressing it towards Sabrina. She also listens to advice at rare moments, like following Ladybug's suggestion to reconcile with Sabrina in "Antibug".
She has a fierce temper when angered as seen in several episodes and sometimes acts a little bit like a child or a daddy's girl.
On rare occasions, Chloé can be courageous, even willingly to help when asked by those she is close to or admires like Ladybug or Adrien, even if it means throwing her own life on the line. Such as when she jump in to save Ladybug from being hit by a cataclysm made by a mind controlled Cat Noir in "Despair Bear", sacrificed herself to protect Ladybug in "Zombizou" and when she desperately tried to help save Adrien in "Syle Queen".
Also on rare occasions, Chloé can be remorseful towards her actions, seen in "Zombizou", when she apologizes to Miss Bustier about forgetting her birthday and that her lashing out in anger caused trouble for everyone. After being deakumatized in "Queen Wasp", she sincerely apologizes to Ladybug and Cat Noir for selfishly using her superpowers and for what happened to Pollen because of her actions.
Much of Chloé's current personality is a result of her feeling unloved by her mother, as she keeps forgetting Chloé's name, and her father's constant spoiling of her. Chloé desperately wanted to be appreciated by Audrey by trying to give her a gift and following her around and copying her moves in order to bond, albeit failing. At the end of "Style Queen", Chloé attempted to ask her mother to spend time together, only to be dismissed. In "Queen Wasp", Chloé was very hurt after her mother dismisses her as irresponsible for the subway train incident and after being deakumatized, when she hugged onto the Bee Miraculous in anguish after hearing her mother reprimand her, desperately begging Ladybug for a second chance. At the end of "Queen Wasp", Chloé sadly asks her mother why she did not love her, to which Audrey hesitantly replied that she did. Once both of them found out their similarities of subjecting others and love for ordering others around thanks to Marinette, they hugged each other, and Audrey decides to spend more time with Chloé in Paris.
As Queen Bee, she is proud of her abilities and wanted to prove herself to her mother by causing a subway train to go at dangerous speeds in order to save it so the civilians will be grateful towards her. She wanted to be a famous, well-known, and well-liked hero just like Ladybug, so she calls Nadja Chamack to film her saving the said subway train. However, in "Malediktator", after a talk with Ladybug, Chloé tearfully reveals that she is aware that no one in her class really likes her and she feels useless. When given the Bee Miraculous by Ladybug, she heroically helps her defeat the titular villain and gives back the Miraculous without hesitation. Afterwards, she slowly attempts to be a better person by cleaning up her own lair instead of having her butler do it and is happy that everyone at school is throwing her a party in honor of her saving Paris. During this time she demonstrated extreme loyalty to Ladybug, being the first character in the series to reject Hawk Moth's akumatization, and even rejected Mayura's attempt at getting her to swap sides during "Miracular". During this time Chloé developed more heroic tendencies as seen in "Startrain" where upon learning of an akuma was onboard the train car she was in, she evacuated everyone within the car, even wait until she was the last one out before locking the door behind herself, during "Ladybug" she would attempt to protect Sabrina from Hawk Moth's second attempt at an scarlet akuma army. However, she later would become even worse than she was initially in the last two episodes of season 3, when she was emotionally manipulated by Hawk Moth to join his side and allowing him to akumatize her to get back at Ladybug, whom she had begun to resent for no longer lending her the Bee Miraculous due to it too dangerous due to Hawk Moth being aware of her civilian identity. As punishment for this act, Ladybug takes the Bee Miraculous away from her for good.
Similar to Cat Noir, Queen Bee has a bit of a habit of leaping before she looks, meaning she is hasty or quick to act, as seen in "Catalyst", where she was eager to fight against Hawk Moth's army or in "Malediktator", where she quickly apologized to her father instead of listening to Ladybug's plan first. She is shown to be hesitant on occasion, shown in "Zombizou" and "Mayura" when she had to fight against her akumatized parents.
As Antibug, most of Chloé's personality remains the same except that she is more vengeful towards Ladybug. She enjoys taunting her and Cat Noir about their teamwork believing she is weak without him and Cat Noir is playing second fiddle.
As Queen Wasp, Chloé is prideful and arrogant towards Cat Noir and Ladybug, believing herself to be a more exceptional hero worth of her mother's praise than both of them and wants to prove it by taking away their Miraculouses.
As Miracle Queen, most of Chloé's personality remained the same except that she became meaner and more power-hungry, using her power to take control of all of Paris, in order to turn the Miraculous holders into her own army.
As Queen Banana, Chloé became immensely vengeful towards her half-sister Zoé, searching to turn her into a banana and blaming her for everything, all while turning everyone that crossed her and her sentimonster's path. She was also not afraid to show dishonesty, as she promised Zoé she wouldn't hurt anyone else if the latter gave herself up, but immediately turned a nearby bystander into a banana. Queen Banana was also very cunning and loved chaos as well. This was shown when she purposely allowed Cat Noir to use Cataclysm on her sentimonster, causing him to go out of control and cause more chaos in Paris.
As Penalty, since she was akumatized voluntarily, Chloé's personality remained the same as she was still cruel, unfair, hypocritical, and demanding, and didn't play fair by making her own rules, and yet, she didn't appreciate it when others cheated despite her doing the same. With her Penalteam, they worked well and cheated together, but started arguing and insulting each other when the Miraculous superheroes used their superpowers and made them all angry. As the heroes used her anger against her, she became fed up with Shadow Moth's demands, realizing his power was incapable of allowing her to torment the heroes like she wanted. Believing she lost the advantage in the game, regardless of how much she cheated, she willingly destroyed her own akumatized object.
As Sole Destroyer, since she was akumatized voluntarily, Chloé's personality remained the same. Unlike Sole Crusher who had a soft spot for Marinette, Sole Destroyer was willing to try to absorb her if it weren't for Adrien's interference.
As Queen Mayor, since she was akumatized voluntarily, Chloé's personality remained the same, but with a more tyrannical twist than usual, as she was willing to imprison anyone who ever dared to stand up to her, including her own father.

Trivia[]
- In Season 4, Chloé has since been succeeded by her half-sister Zoé as temporary holder of the Bee Miraculous, thus making Chloé the first Miraculous holder chosen by Ladybug so far to ever have been replaced in her role as a member of the French Miraculous superhero team.
- Chloé's initial fate, during the episodes "Representation" and "The Final Day" remains unexplained. Because she is neither shown, nor even mentioned (although Miss Bustier mentions her in the sentence: "It was the revolution by the people of Paris that forced the Bourgeois out of power...").
- According to a synopsis on Le Figaro, Wang Fu would be the one to call on Queen Bee, even though Ladybug ended up being the one to do so.
- She likes to order sushi and she hates pizza, as noted in "Princess Fragrance".
- She dislikes soup, as she states in "Kung Food". Interestingly, she uses sushi as a Japanophobic joke against Wang, telling him to "go make it like everyone else", and later again uses it as a jealous conspiracy theory against Kagami where she claims that Kagami will "steal Adrien and take him to Japan", which shows she is racist towards Japanese people.
- Antibug is one of the many Akumatized villains to appear in the theme song animatic.
- Astruc revealed that after season 5, Chloé will not be in a romantic relationship, but her relationship with Sabrina will significantly "improve".
- Her movie counterpart is less mean and, more kind and caring for others, especially Sabrina, more cautious of her public image and came to respect Marinette by the end after giving up stalking her.
- Following Marinette, Chloé is the second Miraculous holder that has worn multiple Miraculous (more than two) at one time with a total of nine. However, unlike Marinette, she was unable to activate any of them, due to not knowing the kwamis' names and their transformation phrases.
- Her voice actress in the Castilian Spanish dub, Ana Esther Alborg, also voiced Crisanta.
- Antibug is the second akumatized villain to be based off of a Miraculous holder, following Copycat.
- Chloé's first three akumatized forms are based upon superheroes (Antibug/Ladybug and Queen Wasp/Miracle Queen/Queen Bee). Her subsequent akumatized forms, Queen Banana, Penalty, and Sole Destroyer break this pattern (although Queen Banana is a pastiche of Queen Bee and Sole Destroyer is an imperfect copy of Sole Crusher), symbolizing her separation from the superhero team and Ladybug.
- With the exception of Antibug and Sole Destroyer, all of Chloé's akumatized forms use a primarily yellow and black color scheme.
- Her defeat at the end of "Revolution" after she was deakumatized where she will not accept that she has lost is similar to how Queen Chrysalis from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic did not accept defeat after she was depowered.
