Villains and Hate Sinks who suffered a genuine tragedy, but since the crimes they committed are unacceptable, the extent of their evil almost outweighs it (e.g. Charles Muntz, Golden Freddy, Noob Saibot, Waluigi, Prince Charming, and Kingpin). This also includes whether the tragedy excuses the villains' actions or not is very debatable. Although, there are some rare occasions where their tragedy somehow still strongly holds up despite everything they've done (e.g. Skull Face, John Doe, and The Penguin).
For obvious reasons, all villains under this category should be under Sympathetic and Debased as well.
Also, if a Hate Sink with a genuinely tragic backstory is not Near Pure Evil, then they still fall under this category.
If a villain isn't a Hate Sink but has a genuinely tragic backstory, then they still fall under this category if they have a personality of a NPE.
This category applies only if the villain's tragedy is recognized as a tragedy. Villains whose tragedy doesn't hold up and whose actions aren't caused by their tragedy should go to Fake Tragic instead. Also, don't add villains who were evil prior to their tragedy, as it negates any meaningful tragedy for them.
