illains who drive others insane either through superpowers, concentrated effort or even both. Mind-Breakers may do this for evil goals in mind, or sometimes even out of pure sadism. Many villains can cause insanity by supernatural means, some evil brainwashers or psychics are capable of driving people insane with their powers and torturers can force a person to go into madness through their own barbaric methods, usually through intense physical harm and/or psychological abuse.
Mind-Breakers are often seen as extremely evil given the utmost cruelty that comes with subjecting the victim to horrific treatment until their minds crack. The damage inflicted by such excruciating conditions is almost always irreversible to some degree; if the victim manages to recover, they are almost always left with some form of lifelong trauma, while the worst-case scenario is that the victim is left an incoherent shell of their former self for eternity until death.
These villains differ from Psychological Abusers in terms of severity, although they can very easily overlap. If a villain successfully drives someone into insanity, or at the very least; a severe broken state, then they can qualify for this category as well. Good examples include; Gil Yepes, It, Slender Man, Glitchtrap, Bellatrix Lestrange, Archibald Snatcher, Kai Chisaki and many versions of the Joker.
