Villains who appear in light-hearted media and significantly darken the tone of the story through their actions, making the story much more serious. To qualify, the villain must commit villainous acts that are unheard of in the story. They are often seen as much more competent than the other villains in the story they are in, and are generally not portrayed comically. Though they can have some comical moments, they can't detract from the game changer's villainy and they are exact opposite and mutually exclusive from comic reliefs. It's also rare for them to be laughably evil, though exceptions do exist (e.g. Lord Shen and Thrax (Osmosis Jones)).
Some good examples of game changers include Judge Claude Frollo, Agatha Trunchbull, Lots-o'-Huggin' Bear, Dick Hardly, Lord Shen, Hopper, General Mandible, Shan Yu and Doctor Robotnik (SatAM).
Note: Please do not add characters where the story already establishes a serious tone.
