Faux Affably Evil is a villain similar to Affably Evil type, but with lack sincerity to their affable and sympathetic nature. These villains are rarely, if ever wrathful or patronizing but they doesn't show any empathy towards others. They are sounding polite but not acting it, which causes their villainy to stand out more rather than less.

In some works Faux Affably Evil breaks the fourth wall and reveal their true nature to the audience, while trying to be nice in front of the protagonists. Arrogant villains who give sarcastic apologies to their opponents also fall under this category. However characters of the story might not be aware of Faux Affably Evil true colors until they reveal them.

Many Pure Evil fall under this category such as using flattery and elegant demeanor to get what they want and achieve their goals. Emperor Palpatine is a very famous example.

Although some can still be remorseful, as they do nothing to make up for what they have done, but still feel bad anyway. This is unless their remorse later leads to their redemption.

Note: Just because a villain is extremely evil and lacks any affable traits doesn't mean that they automatically fall under this category if they're openly hostile and violent towards everyone without showing any false politeness (e.g. Biff Tannen, Montgomery de la Cruz, the Rowdyruff Boys, William Wharton, Adam (Hazbin Hotel), Fliqpy, Big Jack Horner, Heather, and Cyclops). Those should go under Equally Hostile instead. However, this rule does not apply to villains like Zhan Tiri, Lord Commander, Victor, Queen Grimhilde, the movie version of Bowser, The Ink Demon, Hopper, The Prototype, and Princess Morbucks, if they are hostile to almost everyone yet are superficially polite to at least one person.
